It's true that you can eat more, exercise less, and still lose weight. I haven't read the book, so I couldn't tell you if he explains it correctly. The Amazon description mentions focusing more on food quality than quantity, which is good advice.
I don't know what exercise advise he gives in the book, but if you're tired of doing an hour of cardio every day with slow progress, the answer is strength training.
