Talking Back to Basics Challenge, Day 5!

Morning troops! Decided to let you all have a bit of sleep-in today! Okay, so I'm the one who had a sleep-in. And it felt GREAT!

You are all doing so well with your daily goals...you are an inspiration to me! It is embarassing to have to report when I don't meet my goals....but I'll continue the "honesty is the best policy" policy. Even if it kills me.

My only goal for yesterday was to eat OP. Which I did! Until about 2am! Then I found a chunk of crusty bread that was calling my name. At least I put some cheese on it! Then the last 2 Ranger cookies had to join in....

I know, drop and give you 20!

So, for today:

1. Get back on track. The weekend is KILLING ME!

2. Use my new "restaurant water" glass...a lot.

3. Get in my workout...use my new wrist weights.

I'm going for the KISS plan today...nothing too challenging.

So, the same for you guys! No new challenges, no new surprises. Back to Basic for the first day of September! Get out your book, reread the info about blood chemistry and insulin. Re-evalutate your food intake, think about your progress. Re-examine your committment to staying OP and PLAN AHEAD for September!

For today, I will:

Drink my water starting now ...

Have a nice big salad for lunch ...

Only eat one kind of cake (I made 4) and NO empanadas at my son's birthday party ...

Smile even though it looks like it's gonna be a down pour and I have WAY too many people coming over to even think about letting them in the house ....

Have a nice day!!!

Too bad about your doggie, GOFISHIN! I hope she isn't preggers! ROFLMAO.

Well, I did the 10,000 steps and more yesterday and did drink more water but I had chicken wings, Caesar salad and wine last night so...... I guess I sort of switched to Atkins for a meal. I'm paying for it today as the high fat meal has given me the "runs".

Today I am not feeling too great (see above) so will not do much walking unless I drag a port-a-potty behind me. I am eating clean and drinking water.

Hey! I thought you said we had the day off, Sarge. Did I read it wrong?

Okay, I'm back. Thrilling, isn't it.
Just ate a shipload of chocolate and then had a two hour nap. The sumo wrestler's secret: Eat big, then sleep. Stores the calories.
I've got a heck of a toothache now.

No matter, tomorrow is another day. In fact, tomorrow is THE day!

I'm sure I had something interesting to report... where am I...

ah ha! YES! I went to the Y today! DH forced me into it. I did half an hour on the bike, and at least 45 minutes on the Life Circuit machines. I feel like I've been beaten with a large stick. My arms are like limp rags. I hadn't been for at least a month, I think.
Oh, and I saw one of our neighbours there. DH told me later that he'd said he noticed I've lost weight. DAMN, I feel good!
Oh, and I'm pushing 10 000 steps on my pedometer. DAMN good!!

Franny, you get back on track! Tomorrow! What's the KISS plan, hon?

Nikki, how was the party? Did it rain? Did you stick to only eating one type of cake? You didn't say how much... did you eat the whole cake?

Gofishin', you play dominos?! That is so sweet! Hope it stops raining soon!

Ruth, are you in the bathroom? You've shamed me with your "10 000" steps. I'm trying to catch up with you today. Keep it up, sweetie!!

love and hugs to all...

Well, it poured through the entire cook out ... BF did all the cooking on the grill in the rain and we had about 40 people in the house that I really wanted to be outside ... my son still has 8 friends here, but they're down in his room in the basement so the worst is over....

At least drank all my water ... grilled chicken salad for lunch, had a small slice of chocolate cake (chocolate with chocolate chips) and a scoop of icecream ... not too bad, so for today, I will consider my goals met (though when I get on the scale Wednesday I may change that idea!!!)

Smile My free day!

Sergeant Frannie: Lizzie reporting . I did just what I expected for today. Pancake breakfast, healthy lunch, Lasagna, green beans salad, and peach cobbler for dinner. I made all the cobbler, so I had to have sosme to see if it was any good. Tomorrow is a new day. I did eat extra salad. We served 94 people in about 15 minutes. the whole thing went like clockwork. But today I didn't exercise either. One very pleasant thing - I won $40 at bingo this afternoon. I never win. I only contribute, so this was a big bonus for the day.

Tomorrow - back on the plan, exercise at Curves. Ride my bike, Eat healthy all day. And I am looking forward to a massage in the afternoon.

Nikki- so sorry it rained on your 'parade'. I bet you thought that was what you were having with everyone inside

GoFishin'- Do you play Mexican Train dominoes, or Chickenfoot? We like those games a lot.

Does this challenge last for the month of Sept. only?

Lizzie

Evening, all! Just checking in before I hit the sack. Revelie comes early on school days. I won't complain...I would be at work but took the night off! Yippeee!

Nikki-If you can stick to just one kind of cake and no empanadas then you are my hero! And it sounds like you did great even with the nasty weather! Way to go!!!

gofishin'-okay lady, drop and give me twenty....Zzzzz's! I never heard that phrase about the dog....does your DH know? Tomorrow is another day...or else it would just be today all over again, just like the movie "Groundhog Day!" Okay, I'll stop with the stupid jokes.

Ruth-hope your stomach has recovered from last night's assault! What would you call that? "Ceasar's Revenge?" or "Buffalo's Revenge?" I can commisserate. I drank a coffee drink that had a lot of milk (skim) in it, and I'm in the same shape. And dear, if you read my post about today being a day off, you'll see that it was in jest. A day off? HUH! What do you think this is, a free society? Good job with the pedometer! I feel as if I made 10,000 trips up and down the stairs!

ellis-KISS...Keep It Simple Stupid. Just another way of getting back to basics. Glad you made it to the Y...hope you didn't overdo it! I know the only noodles we have around here are my legs after I do DEEP squats! Oops...another stupid joke. I can't help myself! I don't know any GOOD jokes! Chocolate? Chocolate? Ahem....are you emulating Sumo wrestlers now? I'd pay to see you in one of those thong thingies!

Lizzie-you are hereby awarded the "Boy Scout Medal of Honor" for being prepared! You made your plan and you STUCK TO IT! Good for you! Glad things went so smoothly...and happy to hear you even made a little dough! And this challenge will go until you guys are sick of it...or sick of me!

Your not so fearless leader had a pretty good day. Lots of water, a great workout, and almost on plan all day. I say almost because TECHNICALLY my slip last night was today as it was well after midnight. So except for that and a coffee drink that had milk in it, I did well. I cooked a Thai Peanut Rubbed porkloin and some whole wheat pasta w/broccoli for dinner...yum. I used my wrist weights which enabled me to up the weight I am lifting without hurting my bad shoulder, so I am psyched about that. I am honestly feeling a lot stronger after just one month of lifting weights! Plus I can see some muscles where there used to be none! I almost have cleavage! Well, I think I do anyway. I've never had any so I can't be sure.

Off to bed for me. Busy day tomorrow, but I'll get in here and post as early as I can. Who knows what you guys would get into if left to your own devices? I mean, just think about gofishin' and her poor dog! Yikes!
