Default Muscle Pharm Combat Protein Powder

I know this should probably go under alternatives to Ideal Protein, and if it should, I apologize.

Does anybody use MusclePharm Combat Protein powder for in place of the Ideal Protein shakes? I searched but couldn't find any. They are a little higher in protein (23-25 grams, depending on the flavor) but I find them more filling. The protein powder states that it has fast, medium and slow release protein to feed your muscles up to 8 hours! The flavors are unbelievably good. I have Orange Creamsicle, Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup, Cinnamon Bun, Chocolate Milk, Vanilla, Cookies N Cream, and Banana Cream! Ideal Protein has chocolate and vanilla! Blah!

And it's a LOT cheaper than Ideal Protein shakes!

Beardude- I haven't tried the protein powder, but I have tried their protein bars and they are ridiculously good. However, I am not sure if they would be P1 approved.

I have been using the Quest protein powders and I really like them. Plus, it is a lot cheaper than IP products.

I am thinking it fits for the most part.

Musclepharm Combat is 130 calories, total fat 1.5 grams, calories from fat - 15, 4 Grams Net Carbs (5 grams carbs - 1 gram dietary fiber), it also has 197 mg of potassium, 150 mg sodium, 125 Mg of calcium, 25 grams of protein ( I sometimes don't use quite a full scoop)

Ideal protein drink mix has 120 calories 1 gram total fat, 7 grams Net Carb (9 grams carbs - 2 grams dietary fiber), 450 mg potassium, 200 mg sodium 18 grams protein.

So Musclepharm Compat powder has 10 more calories, calories from fat - 10 7 grams more protein, and 2 grams less carbs. The fat content is basically about the same!

I bought the powder online for 36.60 CAD which is 30 servings, plus tax for a total of 41.35. A cost of $1.38 per serving. Ideal protein for 30 servings is 120 CAD plus tax for a total of $135.60, A cost of $4.52 per serving!

in addition, my last order the promotion was buy 2, get 1 free. I bought 4 and got 2 free! Which increased my saving so over all so much more!

And I have to say I have tried 5 of my flavors so far. Orange Creamsicle is delicious, Chocolate Milk taste like chocolate milk. Cookies and cream is just like the bar, and cinnamon bun...is to die for! Just like a fresh cinnamon roll! Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups...need I say more? The reviews say the Banana Cream is the best! I got to say they taste great for sure!

If you look at the criteria for alternatives - see first post in any of the Alternative threads - it looks basically ok tome....

130 calories is fairly close
Less than 30% of calories are fat
Less than 7 carbs
And the bonus of a bit of fiber (1g)

You have made the investment, like the flavors, and if you use it per the IP Phase 1 protocol I think you will continue to lose at about the same pace as with IP products. The notion of timed release to help extend sense of fullness is very appealing.
