My day started when the neighbor boy texted me at midnight. Ah, to be young again! I did try to go back to sleep but to no avail. Fortunately, I had gone to bed early which aided in my process. I see a nap in my future. I started my morning with yesterdays reheated coffee (I'm cheap) but have moved on to a fresh pot. It's my day's off and I haven't yet decided if I will head over the hill for a day (tomorrow) or just stay here and power through the yard. I'm thinking that will be my plan. First, today I take mom to a medical appointment and get the Denver chores done while I'm at it. I have a list for WhFoods and for Costco. We had a beautiful day yesterday, although it continues to be warmer in Alaska. DH has been blessed to have great working weather, although sometimes it gets pretty hot for him in the land of the midnight sun.
I'm headed down for a cup of fresh coffee! I know it will be awhile before anyone joins me LOL
Good morning, Debbie, and those to come. I'm enjoying my coffee now while I can. I have to leave shortly for an early appointment, and I anticipate some heavy traffic, so I have to get a move on. It'll be just Audrey and I for the next couple days since Maggie is at the shore with a friend, and I have to drop Audrey off at a pool party this afternoon. I guess I'll run errands until it's time to pick her up again.
I'll have to swing by my dad's on the way home, as he should be getting home from his trip to Minnesota sometime this afternoon. I'm eager to hear all about his visit with his sisters, and how he enjoyed the drive out and back with my nephew.
Joining you now, Debbie. I seem to have swapped my 5 AM. auto-waking for a more reasonable 6 AM.
Yesterday was a much calmer day than Monday. I even finally cleaned up the front porch ready for the "Girls" later today. We do pet therapy at noon today and I'll buy some crackers and cheese on the way home. Looking forward to spending the next rainy day out there with a book and my dogs, (I need to start getting off my butt and just doing things - I've probably been meaning to do the porch since Easter!)
Checked out the raised bed behind the barn yesterday and am pleased to see that the chard and beans are up. I'd really like to have some kale and may find some started plants next trip to town - maybe Friday when I go to buy my Keurig? I also need to pick up Fair schoolwork on the way to the city - Brockville has a population of 100K but people around here get annoyed when I say "TOWN".
Time to crank up my day. I am going to avoid dropping in at the Mill this morning and just get on with my day as planned. I'm working at balancing my life a little better.
Good morning, Cottage. Wishing you a hassle-free trip to your appointment. I'm glad your Dad finally made it to Minnesota. I remember when he was anxious to go there a couple of years ago when you came here for a visit. Hug Oderia for me - and Maggie when she gets back. hose girls for me
Life has been a little roller coaster here lately, but should be calming down soon . Today should be interesting - I'm interviewing a vet while doing a nasty nasty dental. Get your dog's teeth clean *before* they're rotten! Maybe she'll be impressed with my tooth pulling skills!
Tomorrow morning I'll see a neurologist (finally - it was a 3 month wait) and establish care and hopefully help things out a bit. I've got my paper of symptoms and questions ready to go, poor girl won't know what hit her!
Tammy bombard the new dr and don't leave unless you are satisfied I'll be thinking of you.
Linda I hope your dad had a wonderful time
Ruth we all procrastinate at times, but things do eventually get done. Enjoy your porch sitting.
Debbie glad you were able to get back to sleep. I coukd use a little more today myself.
Going in an hour early today for a conference call. Eight hours flies by which is great, but the drive is a tad stressful. Nothing like driving in NYC to get your anxiety up lol. The ride home is much better. Friday I am taking the train in and may bum a ride home with John. He is assigned to Grand Central. I could just hop on the subway twice and meet up with him.
Love2garden I am a police Captain. The promotion came with a new work schedule.
I did manage to get on the bike yesterday and the scale showed my efforts. Time to pack my food for work and get motivated. Have a great day!
Left very earl to go to city for lubrication shot in bum knee. Last of 3 shots that should help me walk for at least 7 to 9 months. Walking is what I need to get some of this weight off.
Soon we go back, DH goes to oral surgeon for tooth removal, then we both will eat soup from freezer. Simple, healthy meal. Mine is carrot/parsnip soup that is beautiful AND healthy. Swirl some plain yogurt on top. SO good.
So let's just say there's an AWESOME SBD Forumer (Former Forumer?) that really needs to get a swift kick in the pants/sugar detox. Would she be welcome back?
I plan to start Ph1 on Monday and am already planning my menu, however I have a quick question: Has anyone made the Protein Packed Breakfast Cheesecakes with Stevia instead of Splenda? Since Stevia is way sweeter, does anyone have a good measurement that works out?
That's all I've got after a day of pulling poison ivy, weeding, planting, digging, etc. Looking forward to an easy dinner, a fire, and camping in the yard. Oh, and working on getting the 8 quarts of strawberries I bought into the freezer. Might get 8 more for drying. I don't usually dry them, but think they would be good powdered and added to plain yogurt.
Yuck, that sounds like a full day Cyndi! At least the rewards will be great! My mom and I have an organic plot in a community garden and the weeds have been horrible with all the rain this year, but it sounds like I'll score some cucumbers and peppers already this week, and got lettuce from a friend's garden last night. I love all the produce in summer time!
Weezle, I've used Stevia instead. I can't remember because it's been a while...I'm thinking only 2-3 packets? I'm not sure, I might've made a note on the thread?
Mmmm....add some semi sweet choco chips and they're absolutely blissful...
