Default IP Appetizer Ideas

Wondering what all you IPeeps do when you are asked to bring an appetizer to a party? I went to a party on Valentine's Day and my coach suggested pickle spears wrapped in lunchmeat -- I used tooth picks and then cut them into bit sized roll-ups. They went over great and kept me OP!

What are all your tried and true ideas?

I have done mushroom caps stuffed with crab and spinach. It's expensive but it's good. I use frozen chopped spinach and drain it really well mix in some crab and use a little WF ranch dressing or mayo depending upon what I have in the house. Heat them on a cookie sheet before serving.

I always bring a veggie tray.

The veggies are almost always gone, which means others appreciate them, too

I always bring a shrimp ring (without the cocktail sauce - which nobody in our area of the country eats anyhow) - everybody around here loves some beautiful pink icy-cold shrimp - and other friends are on WW so that helps them too plus it's gluten free for any who have that problem. It's always gone quickly. One caveat is to make sure it is not touching anything near it on the appy table in case there are those who are allergic to shellfish.

Yes, veggies are a good staple. I usually have a bit of a hard time staying away from the ranch dressing!

SOOOOOO many good ideas! I knew I didn't have to reinvent the wheel -- just reach out to my IPeeps. Keep 'em coming if you think of new things! I have a monthly card game that I go to. Don't want to take the same thing each time.

Hahaha, sometimes it's good to take the same thing every time that way your peeps will know they don't have to bring the veggies/shrimp/ham rolls/pickled onions, whatevers. As long as it gets eaten up by night's end it will probably be appreciated next time too.
Little, raw, firm mushrooms 'pickled' for 24 hours in EVOO & spiced vinegar are also awesome. (or Italian style antipasti using this, rolled prosciutto, little pickled onions - not the sweet ones, and chili spiced sour pickles) Done this one a few times too - and nobody gets carried away with dip, lol. AND raw mushrooms are unlimited, right??? It's pretty difficult to eat your EVOO total doing it this way, so no worries even if you've had all your prescribed foods for the day.

Veggie tray always.
Crab dip using veggies to dip with while supplying crackers and bread for quests.
Crab meat, old bay, WF Mayo, spinach, Spicy mustard, Go Veggie cheese. bake for 20 to 40 minutes depending on how much crab.

Stuffed Mushrooms:
Lean spicy turkey sausage, onions, garlic, spinach, go veggie cheese
bake for 20 to 30 minutes

thank you for starting this thread!!! I go through all the recipes but I particularly love to find appetizer recipes.
