Hope you've signed up for Lisa's "25 by Spring" challenge, and you are joining in on the daily chat threads. Most of us have at least 20 to lose, so we're all in it with you!

I only have about 20 pounds to lose - does the weight come off slower? I am guessing I won't lose 3-4 pounds a week.

In general, the closer you are to goal weight, the slower the weight will come off. It's pure math....the reason people who have a lot to lose post such big weekly numbers is because the difference between the calories their body needs on a daily basis, and the calories they are eating on IP, is HUGE. The process of ketosis causes the body to consume body fat in order to make up those missing calories. IP is low carb (causing us to fuel our bodies thru ketosis rather than via our glycogen stores) and low calorie (creating the calorie gap). The smaller your body, the less energy it needs to function, so the smaller that gap is.

The other thing to remember (and you'll hear this a LOT on this forum) is that weight loss is not linear. It is not a steady downward drop at the same rate. When coaches talk about the 2-4lb average weekly loss, it is the AVERAGE of the entire weight loss journey. Some weeks will be impressive losses, some may have very small or no losses. Particularly when you are very close to goal, you may notice that the scale barely changes, but your BODY shape changes and you lose inches. It's all right on track

Hi, fellow IP'ers. I'm trying to take off the pounds that crept back on over the holidays after maintaining for 2 years....didn't put all of the weight back on, but enough to where some of my dresses were a bit tight - and I hate that feeling. Today is the end of the 2nd week of my reboot - will weigh tomorrow to see if the scale has moved. I remember from before how slowly it moves the closer I get to goal....like a tease!

Good luck to everyone and prayers for all of us to have the patience the closer we get!

I have about 15 more lbs to go. The losses have definitely slowed for me, having real stalls for awhile now. I have seen a lot of others on here though sail through to their goal with almost no slow down. Every body is different I guess.

I wonder if any March 14 starters are here, as well?

I am also trying to take off about 5 pounds that crept on during the holidays, and lose an additional 5-7 pounds on top of that. I didn't like the way I was feeling at the top of my range while I was maintaining, so I figure I'll give myself more cushion so the top of my range will be my original goal of 165.

My first week woosh was much smaller than my first go round, but like scorbett said, there's (much) less to lose at this point.

Good morning, friends. Well, I nervously got on the scale this morning to begin W3 D1 of my reboot, and after 2 weeks, I'm down 6.5 pounds; 5 more to go. I know it's going to take PATIENCE as those last 5 pesky pounds can be quite stubborn, so I'll keep checking in for support to not just give in and say "ahh, close enough!" Have a great Friday!

very old thread, I see. but I've got less than 20 lbs to lose!! 20 lbs is a lot for a short girl like me (4 feet, 11 inches).

did well for my first 3 weeks on IP, then period hit during 4th week, and cheated for 3 days straight. omg. the horror. now I'm about to "reboot". wish me luck!!!!

Hello! I'm wondering if any of you could be of help to me. I am on week 4 of Ideal Protein and I'm a bit discouraged. This is my second time on the protocol, I lost 20 pounds a year ago and gained 11 back so I'm looking to lose that.

Week one I lost 6 pounds! I was not expecting that. But since then the last three weeks I have only lost 1.5. One week I was up two pounds, the next week I was down a pound. It's not consistent.

I have been constipated a lot and tried everything! Senna, apple cider vinegar, more lettuce, mineral oil and it only seems to work for a few days and then I'm stuck.

I also tried all non-restricted packets and I actually gained that week. I am not cheating and barely exercising (walking and easy yoga)
Any suggestions?! I have been losing inches but I feel like I should be losing something.
