Default newly diagnosed with IR and always very tired, help please

Hello all, my name is Jessica and I am 26 yrs old. I was recently diagnosed with insulin resistance and I was wondering if anyone else is extremely tired all the time from this condition? At times I feel like I am so tired I can't concentrate and I actually feel like my brain is half asleep. Is this part of being ir? I have had my thyroid tested and it was fine. My problem started almost 2 years ago after I had my second baby. My endocrinologist.can't seem to link the fatigue to the ir and I am starting to think that I have some sort of horrible disease that is making me feel so tired.
Any advice?
Forgot to mention I am on metformin 500mg 2x day and I am on a low carb diet.

YES!

Fatigue was a big thing to me seeking a dx, and it rears up periodically over the years. Get your Vitamin D and b12 checked while at it. Metformin eats up your B12 so it can be running you down on that one.

I was ok on over the count but I just got labs and I am back on prescription D.
It matters for energy.

A.

I think, of course, changing your diet will help. When I went Paleo or similar, I got a ton of energy back in my life. Too many carbs will make me sluggish.

Getting enough Vit D and Zinc, etc., also helped a ton.
