I work at the local YMCA, and one of the new classes we're offering this fall is a Saturday-morning exercise class for moms and their kids. The age range is 10 and under. The only problem we're facing at the moment is that the only kids' music we possess right now is the stuff we use for our little kids' programs, so Disney and stuff like that. But we want something that will not only appeal to the kids, but the moms, too -- so that they don't have to deal with an hour of music that will make them want to rip out their own eardrums (I suppose there's only so many times you can hear "Let It Go" before you lose it entirely, am I right?)
So I turn to you, 3FCers! I know there have to be some parents in here, and so I ask you: if you were going to be taking a fitness class with your kids (aged 10 or under) what kind of music would you want to hear? What do you think would work for both adults *and* kids? (I have a feeling the class is mostly going to be moms with babies, because, let's face it....not too many 10-year-olds want to spend Saturdays at the gym with their moms. *L*)
Any ideas?
(And of course, it goes without saying that they have to be language-appropriate too. So no Eminem! Haha.)
