No rules, I used them in my iced coffee and to make 'low carb bubble teas' and enjoy them very much. It's best to stir them into hot liquid, already sweetened, and let them swell for 3-5 minutes before icing them. Otherwise it takes longer for them to expand.

Chia pudding with almond milk, sucralose, vanilla, and cocoa powder is also scrumptious. That just need to hang out in the fridge overnight to properly swell.
