Question 5-htp

I've been reading a lot about this supplement. It's a precursor to serotonin and is supposed to have quite a few benefits such as balancing mood, aiding depression, and aiding weight loss. I'm wondering if anyone has ever tried this supplement and what kind of results (weight related or otherwise) have been experienced.

i've used it off and on before to try and rid my head of obsessive food-related thoughts...when i used it, i found myself thinking less about food and i could make more rational choices about what i was going to eat...it was a helpful tool for me and i did lose a little weight but i found that, for my body, i seem to build up tolerances to things fairly quickly and then it took more of the supplement to get the same effect

Thanks for the repsonse alaskanlaughter. I decided to go ahead and try it and I seem to be getting the same results you mentioned. It's a little easier to resist the donuts in the afternoon

By the way, congratulations on your success! You certainly seem to have found something that works for you.
