As some of you may know, I had ankle surgery in October, but I have recovered 'more than most people' according to my surgeon! I was doing PT but my surgeon has cleared me to do walking, biking, swimming. Once I feel comfortable with that, I can advance to more difficult activities.
Has anyone here recuped from a surgery, then becoming more active? I am a member of a weight loss program sponsored by local hospital and I get a free consult with a trainer at a gym
The gym that sponsors my weight loss program is a different one from my Y, but I know a trainer there and I emailed him to see about setting up a few sessions.
I've heard from a lot of people and I can attest from my own experience that listening to my body is SO important. I let pain and swelling be my guide for how active I am, fortunately both of those are pretty well under control.
I'm eager to hear from others!
