Default feeling under the weather

So I'm restarting IP and of course I've managed to catch my nephews cold. I know that a lot of cold medicine has sugar and whatnot in it. What do you guys suggest for some MAJOR sinus pressure. I've been taking Advil but its not stopping it.

Ugh, I had a nasty cold for almost 2 weeks on IP. It was terrible. I would suggest Advil Cold and Sinus or some sort of 12 hour relief tablet that your pharmacist might recommend for sinus pressure. I think the worst part of being sick for me was not being able to taste food and wanting that "full" feeling to convince myself I had enough calories to get well. It was hard to stay away from the Wendy's drive thru

You could also look in the diabetic section of your pharmacy for OTC remedies. And I agree - check with the pharmacist - they know all the good stuff!

Some natural remedies;

Chicken & veggie soup. Use the chicken carcass to make the broth. I roast the chicken first.

Gargle with salt water
Use a neti pot
Hot herbal tea. Also hot tea made with lemon juice and ginger root.

When I used to get a really bad sinus headache I was told to lay down and place a hot (as hot as you can stand it) wet folded washcloth on my forehead and keep replacing it with a new hot one, continuously for about 15 minutes. (It helps to have someone do this for you). Afterwards, my headache was absolutely gone!
Basically, this dissolves the impacted sinus's and gets things moving.
