Ok so I have written this same post before more or less but I am trying again. I have been maintaining for months but I want to get back on the wagon. I have recently had a break up and missed out on a job because my email failed so I've got to take control of what I can take control of. I also just had my 38th birthday and 40 approaches. By 40 I want to
- get a better job
- move
- have another relationship (I know I can only have so much control over this one)
- lose 14-27 lbs
- give up my 5 cigarettes/week
- give more time to spirituality/meditation
- get comfortable driving again

Yup this is a pretty self centered post but I just needed to put it out there. Thanks for being my witnesses.

Those sound like attainable goals! With regards to the cigarettes, have you tried e-cigarettes? One of my co-workers was a pack a day smoker who smoked due to extreme stress. She switched to e-cigarettes and gradually bought refill cartridges with less nicotine. She hasn't stopped smoking completely yet, but she smokes a lot less and thinks quitting is possible.

Thanks Sasha! I have an e-cig and love it. I actually didn't smoke for a year thanks to that device but I had one bummed from a friend as a "treat" and the next thing I knew I was buying a pack. I've managed to limit myself to one or less a day without too much effort (thanks to the ecig) but zero would be better.

It isn't self-centered to define your goals and commit to them! It really helps you clarify what's important to you and then create a plan to achieve those things. Good luck to you, YOU CAN DO IT!
