Default Friday Fun Oct 11 Chat

Good morning, all!
Thought I would stop in for a moment before I have to go. Another sunny day here with beautiful fall colors. With the long weekend I am hoping to get out and finish cleaning up the vegetable gardens and cut down a boatload of perennials. I should probably pick a few more apples and maybe make some sauce.

Hope everyone has a great day! Time to run! Anyone need coffee on my way out?

Good morning Beth! Thanks for starting us off. Sounds like a weekend of working outside would be great in this beautiful fall weather .

For me, one last camping trip! I can hear the rain drizzling outside, so thank goodness we bought the pop-up. (umm, we wouldn't have gone without it!) The campground we picked this time is only 30 minutes away, which makes it easy.

I have a PTF meeting this AM, then off to work, then frantically pack for the weekend . At least I have most of the prepping done, right? I did make a batch of black bean salad last night (and DD already wanted to start in on it!). Reminded me of black bean soup, which sounds amazing. I might have to make that my soup of the week next week! (or should it be black bean sweet potato?)

Have a great day chicks!

Thanks for the coffee, Beth. It looks like a good morning coming up today.

Tammy, I told you that you should be camping here this weekend. We have sunshine and 72º in the forecast with no rain until Sunday night.

Survived the two days of noise and chaos with the tree guys. They discovered I have a colony of wasps living under part of my roof. No wonder there are six-legged flying critters in my kitchen sometimes. The pest control guy will be here next Friday. All the tree work came to well over $2K so it's been a bad month for home maintenance costs.

Hoping for a quiet day today before the weekend flurry. All I really have to do is go to the bank to get the floats for Saturday sales at the Mill and Town Hall. I did not even bake for the bake sale and sure am not going over to the Hall this afternoon to listen to the bickering over pricing for the items. I did make a price list but ... Tomorrow I am working only the morning and will be sitting down taking cash darn ribs and back are still pretty sore.

OK - anther coffee and then on with the day. Happy Thanksgiving weekend to we Canadians and Happy Columbus Day to those south of the longest undefended border in the world! We have lots to be thankful for!

Good morning Chicklets!

Beth, I've already had one big mug of coffee, but I'm ready for another, thanks! BTW, I've been checking out that website you posted yesterday, and I've found several recipes that I've bookmarked to try. Thanks for the link!

Tammy, I hope it clears up for your camping trip. It's been pouring here since yesterday morning! Black bean soup sounds lovely, and I vote for the one with sweet potatoes. I'll have to put that on my menu for next week. Today I'm making a vegetable soup that I found in a stack of magazines I was browsing through at Ruth's, and just waiting for the perfect soup weather to make it.

A big thunderstorm just passed through here and it's going to be a very wet and windy day. The grandkids are off school today for Fall Break and I'd better find something to do with them all day to make for a pleasant day for all of us. Hmmmm, I did plan to clean the house and get groceries. I wonder how well that would go over with them?

Good morning, Ruth! I envy your sunshine. It's going to be raining here all weekend. How about I come up and spend a Canadian Thanksgiving with you? I'll even bring the Tofurky!

Happy Thanksgiving to Ruth and all our Canadian chicks. Ruth let them bicker without you. You should just enjoy the festivities without doing any work. You need your rest.

Beth enjoy the long weekend. Ironically Sunday starts my long week at work.

Tammy enjoy your last camping trip of the season.

We enjoyed dessert at Joe's parents last night. He made a peanut butter cheesecake with a brownie crust. It was all homemade and oh so good. Surprisingly light, but no surprise not weighing myself until tomorrow lol. Making a turkey breast with some trimming for dinner tonight. DS's GF will be joining us. Otherwise, no nice weather here so staying put.

Happy Friday!

Good Friday morning. I typed the day because I keep thinking it's Saturday! I go into work late morning for a few hours today. Nothing else planned except catching up on some TV shows with DH tonight. I had planned to try a new vegan recipe for dinner but we'll see if I'm motivated to cook later

Good morning,

I accomplished getting everything packed and by the door ready to load. Today is our Annual Customer Service week award luncheon something we all look forward to. I get to hand out awards and gift cards so it is fun day.

I am leaving right afterwards for our trip to Texas, we will stop tonight in Branson and then go to Dallas and visit with DH brother and family and then we will head to Austin on Monday for the conference so it should be a fun weekend.

Ruth ouch for money but things have to be done.

to everyone else I hope you enjoy your weekend activities.

Have a wonderful day everyone!!!

Good morning

Nice day here too. Things are getting back to normal and I was happy when I stepped on scale and saw there was only a 1lb damage

Pearlrose. Hope they remember to take all the luggage. I went with dh to a conference in Japan and this woman from the u.s. was there and they forgot some luggage by the door and poor thing she only had two things to wear all week. And since it was japan her size was hard to find and also $$$ were involved
Happy thanksgiving fellow canuck chicks
Take care

Good afternoon, everyone!

Just a quick check-in for me. DD and I just got inside from playing outside for an hour. She is a little heater and overheats very easily, so we are taking advantage of the moderate weather and spending a lot of time outside. It's great because she is getting out more and sleeping better, but bad for the household as it has gotten me behind on laundry and chores. Oh well. She'll only be this little once! We are planning on a trip to the pumpkin patch tomorrow in spite of rain in the forecast. It's our last weekend here before Halloween, so it's now or never! That being sai, I'll probably end up having to do a marathon laundry session on Sunday after church.

I'm starting to see the scale move, thank goodness. 4 lbs in October so far, so I'm happy about that. And it's all attributed to WOE because I hurt my knee and haven't been working out other than chasing DD around outside.

Beth: Your post makes me yearn for our backyard garden. We are renting right now, but I'm going to try some container gardening to get my fix.

Tammy: Hope it clears up for your camping weekend! Have a great time!

Ruth: Ouch on that tree bill! And the exterminator to come! Glad you are avoiding the bickering, but sorry your back and ribs are keeping you from enjoying your day-to-day right now.

Linda: We honestly used to have a blast cleaning with my grandma. She'd turn on the Oldies station and we'd dance and dust. May not work for kids nowadays, but it's worth a shot!

Jennifer: Oh my! The food porn! That cheesecake sounds so divine! Enjoy your weekend of staying put! We're going to need one of those soon!

Karen: I forget what day it is all the time. Sounds like you have a nice, pleasant evening planned. Enjoy!

Pearl: You'll be in our neck of the woods! We're 2 hours from downtown Dallas and are leaving for 9 days in Austin a week from today. I hope you all have a great trip and that the conference goes well!

, Sophie! I hope you have a wonderful Friday!

Camping is cancelled! I'm okay with it, because it hasn't stopped raining/drizzling. I don't mind cold, but I certainly don't enjoy that damp cold. Never mind, DH couldn't close the top of the pop up. It would look silly going down the road open, eh?

Hello from sunny Cape Ann MA. The kids down the hall have been in the water playing in the waves all day. It's nice enough here but that's kind of crazy It's our last full day here. It's been really nice being away, perfect weather, lots of walking, time with friends, and a chance to decompress from work stress (we both needed it). I'll be sad to head back tomorrow, but I guess we have to

It's almost time for another beach walk. Happy weekend friends
