Smile Good, well known songs of the 50s-80s

Well i'm making a CD for Christmas day () and I need some REALLY GOOD songs from the (including) 50s to the 80s. I've heard heaps of good songs over the years but I've never picked up the names of them unfortunately.

So far I have:

Jail House Rock - Elvis Presley

Rock Around The Clock - Bill Haley

Jessie's Girl - Rick Springfield

Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go - Wham!

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun - Cyndi Lauper

Footloose - Kenny Loggins

Why Does Love Do This To Me - The Dance Exponents

Burning Love - Elvis Presley

Blue Suede Shoes - Elvis Presley

Mamma Mia - ABBA

I Wanna Dance With Somebody - Whitney Houston

Daddy Cool - Boney M

Sunny - Boney M

I do have a few songs in there that aren't from the 50s-80s. But I would prefer the rest to be in the area.
& yes! I do know it's way too early to be planning stuff for Christmas, but I just simply can't wait and this CD is keeping me sane!

So yeah, well known songs, with a good beat to dance too is what I'm looking for.

I realize that you might want songs that are more fun:

-Old Fashioned Rock and Roll by Bob Seger

-Celebration by Kool and The Gang

-Shout by The Isley Brothers

-Walking On Sunshine by Katrina and the Waves

Nowhere to Run - Martha & the Vandellas

I Heard it Through the Grapevine - Marvin Gaye

We Are Family - Sister Sledge

Neutron Dance - Pointer Sisters

Here Comes the Sun - George Harrison

Walking on Sunshine - Katrina and the Waves

The Lion Sleeps Tonight - Several versions

Lady Marmalade - Several versions

Walk This Way - Aerosmith

Free Bird - Lynyrd Skynyrd

Come Together - Beatles (I like the Joe Cocker cover in Across the Universe)

Don't Stop (thinking about tomorrow) - Fleetwood Mac

This, though the Christmas song is just Paul McCartney.

"I'm So Excited" - Pointer Sisters
"Hip to Be Square" - Huey Lewis & the News
"Take on Me" - A-Ha
"Walk Like an Egyptian" - The Bangles
"You Spin Me Round (Like A Record)" - Dead or Alive
Goody Two Shoes - Adam Ant
Raspberry Beret - Prince
"Everybody Have Fun Tonight" - Wang Chung
"Whip It" - Devo

Can't do the 80's without Madonna -- maybe not "Like a Virgin" or even "Material Girl" for Christmas Day, but how about Holiday or Lucky Star?

Elton John's "Crocodile Rock" makes me instantly happy whenever I hear it.

For ultimate 80's Christmas --
"Last Christmas" - Wham!
"Do They Know It's Christmas?" - Band Aid
