Default Figs?

I saw figs for sale today, and I am intrigued.

I love every fig jam and goat cheese thing ever. And fig pizza. But I've never actually cooked a fresh fig myself, or eaten one other than on pizza.

And suddenly I really want to.

Anyone have any good fig recipes or ideas? I am very open-minded about food, but I am trying to stay within 1200 calories a day, so I'm looking for either something low-calorie enough that I could eat a big portion or, if dense in calories, I would like it to also be dense in taste, so I can have a little bit and bring the rest to work without feeling super deprived. Anything I bring to work should ideally be vegetarian but for sure not contain pork or shellfish or any meat that isn't kosher.

Personally, I would eat the fig fresh as a treat or for dessert. Is is soooo good and their season/arrival is short-lived.

Adding them to a mixed greens salad with a raspberry or basalmic vinegar dressing is also fantastic!

Found a recipe for you : http://www.skinnytaste.com/2012/11/f...with-goat.html

Growing up, my dad regularly made a fig dessert for us. He'd slit a fig, stuff it with some walnuts, bake it, then top it with some powdered sugar. So good!

I sometimes make a lazy version of that, just the fig and nuts w/o baking or sugar.

Oh wow. I am going to do all the things! If, of course, they still have figs.
