Default Weight Loss, but Gained Inches

Has anyone else had this happen? Maybe it's the way they measured, but I was down over 3 pounds yesterday, and gained 3 inches. It's week 3 for me...

I was told just today if that happens you have the Big C. My coach told me he would measure me again next week.

This could be the culprit. I have been off a few times too, and it was because a different person did the measuring,

Were you wearing the same clothes as last time? Measuring is one of those things that is not always exact in my experience. I find my coach sometimes doesn't measure the EXACT same spot, sometimes it's a little higher or lower on the thigh, sometimes it's not exactly mid waist, etc. Its one of those things that I think we both want to get over with quickly cause im breathing my keto breath in her face and such So I don't' make a huge deal of it.

When I first started losing "this time" (not on IP) I was losing in my bust and waist, but not in my hips (where I wanted to lose most), and then I saw a GAIN of inches in my hips and nearly freaked.

It took me a minute to realize what had happened - some of my upper abdomen fat roll had dropped/sagged onto my lower abdomen. I really had lost inches in my waist, but they dropped onto my hips.

Water retention can also add inches.

At home I take two measurements one with normal tension, and one pulling the tape measure as tightly as I can pull it. I do that, because sometimes you won't see any inches lost because tightly packed fat can become soft-squishy fat. Sort of like a teddy bear that's firmly stuffed. You can pull out a lot of stuffing before the bear looks any smaller. The tight and loose measure can help you gauge how much "stuffing" you're losing.

I've noticed that my "tight" measures shrink much faster than my relaxed measures.

My second and third measurments were by the same person. My initial measurement was done by a totally different person. We always measure in underwear so that, other than what bra your wearing, the measurement are usually the same. I just have to remember to wear the same bra on WI days... lol

When I wore jeans my measurements were different than when I wore dress pants!

And some of my bras are padded... figured that out after the 2nd time!
