its grey and nasty out so this chicks grumpy and sore I have a phone meeting in an hour and a half (tg for telecommuting) and I have to stay alert and alive so no crawling back tothe sheets
Last night at dinner was fun
but it was also a food disaster
Why is it that when people know you are trying to get healthy they try to sabotage you?
While my actual dinner wasn't bad I had filet mignon and a sweet potato no condiments My friend gave me the puppy eyes when I told her I didnt want a boomin onion so i siad ok have it I just wont have any (it was only the 2 of us) arg
her alternative was cheese fries
its like which is worse So I ate 1/4 a bloomin onion thats about500 calories and I dont want to mention the fat
and ofcourse the breading GRRRR I'm mad at myself most of all for not standing up for my WOE

OOH
I found a yummy topping for tuna!
we are currentlyout of mayo and b/c of my mom's aversion to it light mayo never crosses our threshold
But we had a light dressing from Kens hat was Northern Italian with i think romano cheese
OMG it was soo good low cal 5 g's of fat and 1 carb and it tasted decadent

Oh I wore my shorter than I've ever worn skirt last night
Oh god lol one guy pulled up while I was waiting for my friend to get me and blew me a kiss
and after we went to TJS so I could stock up on some healthy Road food this car full of guys stopped coming out of the parking lot all of em looked at me and then drove off
My friend said one particular heinous guy had checked me otu in the store UGH!
I was like Dammit wheres bf when you need him?
that skirt/twinset combo way to powerful to goout unescorted lol
Alright sorry bout the ***** fest I'm waiting for my mood to elevate

Morning Becky!

Kierie - you hottie! Work it! Work it! Sorry that your friend wasn't very supportive. Don't beat yourself up for giving in a little - you did stand up for yourself and next time you'll follow through.

Nothing going on in my boring life. Ran errands and finished my work-out last night. Tonight we are supposed to meet another couple for drinks and dinner "somewhere downtown". I'm having a hardtime with that because I can't pre-plan how many points I'll need. Also, I've been POP for 11 days now and am seriously craving fries, burgers, pizza and grease in general. I'm afraid out socializing in an unknown place that I will go overboard instead of indulging in moderation. Argh.....

On a bright note, I've been trying a few new work-out tapes. In the last few days I've tried the following from the Firm: Cardio Sculpt Blaster, Body Sculpt Blaster and Lower Body Sculpt II. I can't believe how much fun I have doing these tapes!

Question for all of you - if you do/did at one point WW, do you eat your activity points? I usually earn between 3 & 7 points plus I'm fairly active at job #2. I've never eaten them before but I've been vaguely headachey (often a sign that I'm hungry) for the last week and can't attribute it to anything else. I've also had the munchies the last few days (thank goodness for cucumber slices with seasoned salt!). I was thinking maybe I ought to eat a few more points.

Should work. Back later. Have a good day.

Laura

Kieri~ Cheer up it sound like last night should have been a bit of a self-esteem boost I am glad you had fun. Cheese fries, DH loves them and THANK GOD I do not so it is not a temptation. I have people here at work that love to try and sabotage but it usually just pisses me off and I eat healthy just to be spiteful Yes, I am evil but in this instance it pays off!

Well, last night I broke down and ate ice cream. I normally don't have the fattening kind in the house but due to nephews b-day party we had Moose Tracks and I find it absolutely irresistable. I paid for it last night though b/c my tummy was mad at me and made me sick. Oh well you live and you learn and I plan to chuck it into the trash. I haven't exercised yet this wk. I have been a slacker. I am very preoccupied with buying a house and spending time with DH. We have been a bit at odds due to stress lately so Sunday I just decided to try to stop taking this out on him whether or not he did the same is up to him...and guess what????? When I am more patient and less irritable with him he returns the favor! It was a tiny breakthrough for this newlywed but working out has got to work its way back into the picture. I did attempt aquaexercise class last night but it was cancelled. I think I may go for a walk tonight and maybe even lift some weights. Well enought babbling about me I need to work. I will check back.

Hi girls. Sorry I haven't been around for a few days, but I didn't feel like posting. But I need some advice.

I've been kind of down at work, because my editor and a co-worker are having problems with each other and it's causing a huge amount of tension. This has been going on ever since I started here three months ago. I've also become friends with both of them, the reporter more, so I feel caught in the middle. The editor helped me get this job, although she's not a very good editor and that's a whole other set of issues. My DH tells me to stop feeling loyality to her because I would have gotten the job anyway and she just told me it was open. (which is probably true.)

Anyway, I know I'm babbling. Here's the deal: I finally saw a doctor today to talk about headaches I've been having, my allergies, and since I'm new to the area, just to establish a doctor. My weight clocked in at 200 on her scale, and now I'm scared to death I am never, ever, ever going to lose weight. I talked to her about it, and told her I had gained 15-20 pounds since November when I hadn't been a huge piggie (just a little piggie ). So she's testing to see if I have a thyroid problem, and also talked to be about weight loss medication, like Meridia. It scared me! First, you can't take it if you want to get pregnant, which I want this fall, it can cause high blood pressure and oh, yeah, insurance companies don't cover it and it would cost about $100 a month. BUT, my blood pressure was high today (it wasn't in February, the last time I saw a doctor), so I couldn't even go on Meridia right now.

The other thing? I guess I don't want to cross over into being really and truly fat and needed drugs to help me. Why can't I do this myself? All last week I tried to eat better and I went to the gym twice. Well, I gained a pound! I just don't get it and feel awful. What can I do? Should I try the drugs? Has anyone ever used them and do they work? Is it worth it to put off having a baby, even though I'm 30, DH's 35 and we don't want to wait much longer?

I know, a lot of questions. I can't even reach DH to talk because he's playing golf.

Hey Kim Sweetie
Take a deep breath
I tried Meridia I will say I lost weight on it but If i ate past my hunger ahem I bingd with it
and it makes you a bit wired
Wait till you see about the thyroid andsee if you can get a referral to a dietician who might be able to tailor a kim diet that would work well with your bod
You are not going to be fat forever thats why you're here try a dietician and see what they say.
we're here for you honey
love
kier

Morning! I worked my first volunteer shift at the emergency room last night. It wasn't that busy but it's hard to just stand there and not be able to do anything except give people ice and tell them to be patient. This ER is the 2nd busiest in BC so they were packed when I got there and kept trying to squeeze more people in.
Kier - you've just made me crave tuna. I have 8 cans in my house but I haven't felt like it in so long. Yay tuna.
Kim - Kier gave you great advice. Wait for the thyroid results and deal with that first. Dietiticians are a great resource. You could call it your pre-pregnancy plan and use it until you get pg and then go back to it after you have a baby to lose the baby weight. And work, I hope you're not too stressed, you've told us before that the editor isn't the best, DH is right, you don't owe her any loyalty, you got that job cause you're good at what you do. Hope things work out for you babe.
Becky - Moose Tracks is my FAVOURITE. I stupidly bought some about 3 weeks ago and finished it off last night. I figure I have to get the stuff out of my house somehow, I should have been strong and thrown it in the trash.
Laura - definately eat your activity points!!! My leader told us we should be eating our minimum every day and if you have 3 activity points, that makes your minimum 3 points higher. Might help the headaches.

OK - I have to get some stuff done, I'll try to check in later. It's almost 11 and I've only had 4 points - yay me.

Kim~ We've missed you! I will offer a small bit of advice. I got a bit too involved in something similar at work and it bit me in the @**! Since then I have been real honest with people and when they begin to involve me I typically say "you can vent to me if you want but I cannot become involved" usually they don't even vent to you anymore which in my opinion is a good thing. Too many people cross lines at work and from someone who has done this a couple of times I would steer clear of the situation. As far as the drugs, from what you've described you aren't a candidate for them at this time due to blood pressure, etc. So I agree with Kieri try a dietician. Bottom line you will lose it! Don't be too discouraged you have gained and lost it before. You will make the right decisions! I have faith in you

KT~ I too am not sure if I will have the will power to throw away the moosetracks! Wish me luck

Kieri~ Sounds good! I'll be your cheerleader and you be mine!

Went and had lunch with DH! It was nice and I got a low fat wrap! Yay me! Well back to work. I get to leave in about an hour b/c we are going to look at that house again.

Kierie - sorry for running our on our convo - work called.

Becky - have fun looking at the house. Come back and tell us all about it.

Kim - you've gotten great advice - listen to it. Also, even if you have to put off TTC for a little while, you'll know that it is so you can become healthier and have a healthier baby when you do have one.

KT - what do you do as an ER volunteer?

Must return to work.

Laura

THis has to be super quick

Laura Are you getting enough water with all of this exercise? That can also leave you headachey. I don't spend my exercise point unless I have to. Maybe you should look at how many points youi're spending on what-protien, carbs, etc. Maybe reread week 6 book?

Kim, chin up! Try a dietician, maybe a trainer too. Maybe the exercise you're doing isn't the right kind for you. You say you've been eating better but are you writing it down & measuring & counting? I find that lots of times when I think I'm doing good but not writing things down & not losing, I'm actually eating more than I should without realizing it. Also maybe see what you're spending you points on too. See my note to Laura. At any rate don't give up! You can do this. We all can!

Gotta go to work!
