Unhappy terrible smell!

Hi All! I love the cauliflower rice but i've noticed that after you cook it the kitchen stinks! I usually light a candle and that helps but the part that smells the most is what I throw out after I cut the florets off. It makes my trash smell terrible.. so much so that you can actually smell it from outside the trash, like really bad! Has anyone else experienced this? Can the cauli rice be made with frozen cauliflower?? All responses are appreciated! Thanks for the help guys!

I use the whole thing when making the rice... can't smell any worst than broccoli... which we love even more than the cauliflower

Cauliflower definitely stinks, but the deliciousness is worth putting up with the smell! I just make sure I take my trash out as quick as possible so it's not stinking up the house as long.

Cauliflower rice doesn't work well from frozen cauliflower but you can buy it and rice it (shred) and freeze it and that works really well.

I probably buy three heads of cauliflower per week because it is so versatile.

If the smell is getting to you, just plan on processing cailiflower the night before the trash goes out. I use almost the entire head, I even shred the clean part of the stem so there is very little waste. I shred with a cutting board in the sink to reduce the kitchen mess, freeze it on a cookie sheet and then save in a ziplock.
