Hi pixie,

I'm not but if you are looking for people in the 270s, the 100lb club which is a subforum for those that are 100 lbs or more overweight, has a thread for those in almost every decade of the 200s including 270s

Hi! I'm right there with ya! I started in the 290s and I'm hoping to keep my momentum going and get right through the 270s in a hurry!

I joined WW and my (meager) exercise is pretty low-level. I have a recumbent bike and I walk. It's soooooo hot so more bike (inside) than walking (outside) at this point. I'm sure I'll reverse that in the fall when it's not roughly the same temperature as the surface of the sun with 129% humidity.

Yeah that 270s 100+ forum is NOT for me. Anything that starts with losing weight is easy anyone that doesn't think so should suck it up is not for me. I thought this was help and judgment free.

I just found this as a slap in the face because I do find this hard and AM working hard to try to do what I can

"Sometimes I feel like this whole weight loss thing is too easy. I feel like I should be struggling more than I am. I talk with some other friends who are also trying to lose and they are constantly telling me how hard it is for them to eat right, or to get motivated to go to the gym. I either feel like I must be doing something wrong that this isn't harder (pretty sure not though, since I am ~25 lbs down) or I feel like tell them all to suck it up, it's not that hard. I don't say that though, I try to offer suggestions of what is working for me, and try to be as encouraging as I can."

First post on the thread and it just turned me off put a knot in my stomach. Like am I not supposed to find this hard? I do and now I feel like I must be really screwed if all these people in my weight range are not struggling and I am. Maybe I am not supposed to do this.

Ohh, I don't think she really meant it to be aimed at anyone like they should think it is easy. I will say when I first started out, it was pretty much smooth sailing because I totally had motivation- doing weight watchers (WW) and working out daily- didn't wanna go off plan too much. Now, it is a struggle every day just to stay on plan, one meal at a time. I don't work out as much any more either. It is hard and a lot of us will admit that.

There are different people on that thread by now though so maybe you can still check it out to see if you may enjoy the support and chatting? (only if you want to, of course!) You also could make another thread and have people join with you too (like Summer to Labor Day or something like that.) I made a 4th of July Challenge a while ago (PS- I plan to make another one for 4th of July to Halloween- please join us for that one as well!!! I'd love to have you with us!) and you are more than welcome to join us there! I like the Lose 10lbs by... threads in the WLSupport forum- pretty nice and supportive people there!

Oh one more thread you may like- Memorial Day to Labor Day Challenge, was made by Jolly- she's cool.

Pixie, don't give up! I'm actually in the 170s right now rather than the 270s, but when it comes down to it, we're really both on the same journey. I CAN tell you that unless you've eaten roughly 10500 calories ABOVE your maintenance calories, you did NOT really gain it back! It's 100% water fluctuations. I've gone up or down 5+ lbs in a day with water fluctuations - don't let it get in your head.
I'm sorry to hear that it's hard for you, and I agree that was not a very understanding or sympathetic comment by the other user. Weight loss is often a hard, hard road, but it's worth it. I remember a quote that I've heard several times here:
"Being fat is hard. Maintaining your weight is hard. Losing weight is hard. Choose your hard."
Also, I wanted to say that you're always welcome to join us over at "Daily Accountability/Lifestyle Change - June 2013 - Everyone Welcome!"

We all have te same journey and those first and last 10 lbs are the same, regardless of where you start.

200 lbs to me, feels the same as 20 to someone else. It's hard to see, and sometimes we think (and say) things that are a bit insensitive to the person we are saying them too. Just blow it off when someone speaks without thinking!
