Default Phase 1 Costco Shopping List

Hi All,

I am starting the diet in a few days and I wanted to make a Costco run. Is there anything specific to Costco that I should pick up?

Thanks!

I always buy
english cucumbers
a bag of tri colored peppers
a bag of red peppers (these I roast and make into a puree; see Fun w/Purees thread for the recipes)
mushrooms (puree some of them)
organic spinach
a big package of "the meat of the week". On the weekends, I make a big meat dish, split it up to eat now and freeze for later.

My occasional buys include..
fresh broccoli
olive oil
Premier Protein shakes (choc and van)
frozen shrimp
eggs
lettuce

But, we're heading into Farmer's Market season so my Costco bill will be shrinking

**edited to add; Start pricing out blenders/smoothie makers. Costco usually has a Vita-Mix or Magic Bullet available. I went with the Ninja brand from Target, but I think you'll find a quality blender/processor appliance very useful.

I always get Lettuce mix, tri colored peppers, red peppers, hamburger, and a rotisserie chicken. I know some don't like the chicken because it does have some carbs in it, but I've used it all along and haven't noticed a difference. Their chicken is my favorite! I also like their Biotin supplement.

Also get the individual frozen portions of some type of fish. These are great and a fast bake in the oven. You can also get their 3G-Omega fish oil there.

Mixed greens salad, cucumbers, asparagus, cauliflower, broccoli, zucchini

And if you don't have a GOOD nonstick pan, I wold highly advise you get one. I personally have ceramic one and LOVE IT

If they have the pork loin, it's great. Comes in 4 per pack about 2lbs each. I make one roast and have left overs for several day. Also, they usually have good filet mignon. Oh, and don't forget asparagus.

The frozen "wild caught" salmon is individually wrapped and about 8oz per serving. Much better than what I get at my local grocery store.

I go through 2 bags of the romaine (4 pack) per week...unlimited lettuce :-)

I recently bought the butter lettuce, nice change.

Lol, I'd do the same thing. Mushrooms are a daily staple for me!

Same here
I just got back from Trader Joes. My best friend was with me and she had a puzzled look on her face when I loaded my basket with 5 bags of sliced crimini mushrooms.
I just told her that mushrooms are my 'bread'

Thanks for this information. Would you recommend the Ninja brand over the others?

I also get the premier shakes there and then buy for my bars the 18 pack of Pure Protein mixed bars.
