Question mammogram and weight loss

wasn't sure where to put this! I had a mammogram today and got called back to do another one on thursday, I was wondering if anyone else has ever got a call back after losing weight and if it had anything to do with it, like maybe the weight loss changes the breast density, I have lost a little over 50lbs, my mom has had breast cancer twice so I am alittle freaked out, I guess I won't know for sure until thursday. Any thoughts or similar experiences?

I've been called back twice with no bad new. Both times they wanted to do it 'now' so I was scared...I'll be praying for you!

Nothing to do with weight loss but I was called back. I knew I had a lump going in though. So during the call back, they did a second mammogram, looked at it, then did an ultrasound, then told me I was fine. It is stressful, I understand but you can get cysts that aren't cancer.

Oh good! Both mine were benign cysts. It's still nerve wracking, I know! Glad you are ok!

No reason to freak out at this point. Lots of women (including me) have dense breasts requiring repeat examinations. My mother also had breast cancer. I've had 4 breast tumours removed, all benign. Best of luck with the repeat mammogram.

I was called back. I'm large chested and they are "dense" so they had trouble seeing some stuff. It was nervewracking but turned out ok. Good luck!

Mine are also dense(but small) and I have gotten the callback. One time they also did an ultrasound which can often work better for women with dense breasts, and one time they actually recommended I see a breast surgeon since they had trouble interpreting the readings.

Best of luck..let us know how it goes.

Karrie,

If you didn't already know, you can tell by many of the responses, the call-backs are common & quite commonly nothing to them! Nerve wracking nonetheless!

Best of luck to you, we'll be thinking about you - let us know how it goes!

My son is a rad tech, call backs are very common. Especially if you have not had one ever or for a few years. They're looking for comparisons.
