I feel a little silly reading about people who lose 2 lbs a week. I lost 1 pound and it took me 6 weeks. I have a lot of challenges to overcome - herniated discs, displaced hip, knee pain, depression (on medication that causes weight gain), PCOS, insulin resistance. So being able to finally lose a pound is a big deal for me.
I have been working out 5-6 days a week for 6 weeks, both cardio and strength training. I have also been using the Insulin Resistance diet (eat no more than 30 grams of carbs in a 2-hour period, always pair carbs with 50% of their grams in protein). During those six weeks I was weighing in every couple of days between 160 and 162. I could feel my clothes getting looser but nothing showed up on the scale until this weekend....159! Finally, validation.
It took me a number of weeks to lose my first pound. Now, I lose a pound in 2/3 weeks. Some people lose at a fast pace, others at a much slower pace. Congratulations on the loss. Here is to many more to come!
Congrats! I celebrated the other week about losing 0.2 pounds, so 1 pound is definitely worth celebrating! It's one more pound you aren't carrying around on your body, and one more pound you don't have to lose. Way to go!
Congrats! No matter how fast or slow anyone loses, we all lose 1lb... at a time. And it's not just 1lb if you gain it, it's that 1lb and all it's friends! Here's to all that lb's friends disappearing too, now that the first one has gone :-)
When I get discouraged, I just keep thinking "ok, you only have to lose 1lb. Ignore the rest".
And a big congrats on you defying the challenges you're facing by losing weight not gaining it! You're on top of this
Thanks!! I am also excited about my next 1-pound loss! Even if it takes me till the end of March....!
You are so right about not gaining. I have lost weight in the past, only to gain it all back. So being successful at maintenance would also be a new achievement.
Congratulations!!!!!! That's amazing! And you've totally got the right mindset- whether fast or slow, it's still amazing that you have accomplished it!
great job in sticking with it with all of those challenges! And how fun that this special pound isn't "just" a pound, it's also the one that let you move down a decade to the 150s. Congrats!!
