Question Cheap, quick ideas

Between being a full time student, having a job and doing an internship, I have very little time to grocery shop or cook. And b.c. of wonderful college expenses I don't have a lot of money. To save on grocerys I tend to buy ground beef, mac and cheese, things like that. Anybody have any thoughts?

What about chicken breast? You can do a quick stir fry with chicken and veggies and a serving a brown rice on the side.

Maybe eggbeaters and 2% cheese for an omlette (one of my fav's ) , the 2 slice for 1 point bread & 2% sliced cheese, & use the spray butter for a 2 point grilled cheese and maybe a can of tomato soup, grill a chicken breast and cut it up in a salad and use ff salad dressing (if you like it, I don't, I use a smaller amount of reg. ceasar dressing), if I come up with anything else quick and simple I'll post it. Good luck.....Sis

Some of ww recipes are great, quick & reasonable to make.
Try the veggie lasagna & cheesy chicken casserole. When I make these I cut them into servings & if not eaten after a couple of days I freeze them for lunches.

Hope this helps.

I love chicken quesadillas!

Chicken Breast - Salsa - Low fat Cheese - 2 Whole Wheat Flour Tortillas (fry chicken, put chicken, salsa & cheese in between 2 tortillas in oven to melt the cheese).

Also - Taco Salad (cooked w/ taco seasoning ground beef, lettuce, grated cheese, salsa and whatever other veggies you have on hand).

Is tortilla the same as a pita? Or is it a wrap?

A tortilla is the same as a wrap.

A pita is a little piece of bread that you cut in half, pop open & fill with stuff.

Default Yummm

I usually cook some eggs with 2 tablespoons of cream cheese on the side for breakfast. It's cheap, fast, and easy.
I'm not really sure what it's like to have a fixed schedule for college and jobs and such, but a nice cheap value pack of some sort of meat is good. Like sirloin steak, its good for lunch and supper. Quick to cook too.

Believe it or not, you save money if you cook outside the box. It's true..I didn't believe it either. It also helps if the day you go shopping or soon after, you spend most of your day prepping the meals and freezing them. That way, when it's time to cook, all you have to do is take them out of the freezer, defrost and cook. You've saved money because you've 'thought outside the box', you have the convenience of prepackaged food because you thought ahead, and you know exactly what's going into your body because YOU put it there!
