Default End of 2weeks

I really am glad I did this. Learned so much about my carb issues and know that I will learn more as I reintroduce them. I lost 8lbs so far. On the other hand my DH has only lost like 3. He is ready to throw in the towel. I think it's because he doesnt have a carb issue. More of a salt/fat/meat kind of guy.

Tomorrow going to a brunch buffet but hoping to stay on plan. May have a small dessert.

You will most likely be sorry if you eat a sugary dessert. Snack on cheese as your treat...or hard boiled eggs...sugar and the low carb plan do not mix. Maybe some sugar-free jello. Chances are the sugar will kick you right out of ketosis. Good luck.

Maybe, just maybe you can have a few fresh strawberries...No sugar, flour, grains...your carbs should come from veggies. You can eventually add some things to this low carb way, but not at the beginning. Don't blow it.

South Beach is not low carb, it's good carb and ketosis is not an issue. That said, I agree it's so not worth having a dessert right after you finished a clean Phase 1. Why risk restarting cravings? That dessert will still be around later when you are in maintenance and can eat one dessert without sliding back. You can always choose to eat it later on.

Thanks for the advice. I think I did pretty well at the buffet, had small portions of fish, raw veggies, a few strawberries, omelet, some sushi with white rice (I know), a small bit of ice cream. I felt completely satisfied and not full at all, which is an accomplishment in itself at a place like this.

I took a nice walk after dinner too. My thinking was that would help burn off some carbs.

For dinner I had sauted beef with veggies. No cravings yet. When do they usually kick in? Now I am a little worried that I may have blown this, but hoping that I just get back on the horse and keep going.

Thinking tomorrow I will stay in plan, with just one fruit added to lunch or dinner.

Well done Vicky!
I just finished my 2 weeks aswell and feel really good about it. It wasn't always easy, especially the first few days. And I did tire of eggs for breakfast. But it made me re-evalue my food choices and instead of grabing a cookie, piece of toast or make some pasta for lunch or dinner I eat lots of veggies and lean meat/fish.

I still have some cravings (I really wanted some of the bread my husband had for dinner last night), but I think it was more mental then physical.
Hope we have a good phase 1.5 and I'll be curious to see how we both do.

Hi Nina, Congrats to you for finishing the 2 weeks. How is 1.5 going for you? Today I will add just one fruit and see how that goes.

You did great. As long as you are able to stay in control and stay with it, you're good.
