Sooooo, Christmas was a really rough time for me and I stopped tracking and gained 10 pounds, but I'm back! I've lost the 10 pounds I gained back plus 3 more. I'm sticking to it this year, and for the rest of my life, no exceptions. My health has to be my #1 priority.
I've started planning out two weeks worth of meals for myself ahead of time and it helps SO MUCH. I'm a veterinary nurse so my life is pretty busy and I'm at work 80% of the time. I work very long hours and everyone at work orders food every day and snacks all the time. I've started tracking everything I put in my mouth and stopped eating any fast food whatsoever. If I do order out once every two weeks or so it's a salad.
I just got diagnosed with severe spinal arthritis and my L5S1 have no disc in between them now so it's bone grinding on bone and my L4L5 are slowly losing the disc in between them. My diagnosis has been a huge hurdle for me, but I am taking it with a grain of salt and doing everything I can to get the weight off so it takes some of the strain off my back. I'm doing yoga every night and I'm going to start going back to the gym for swimming and treadmills starting this paycheck! WHOO WHOO!
Wow, that was a really long rant. Sorry ladies and gents. Any feedback from any other nurses on how you keep healthy? Anyone know of any good recipe websites other than here/WW/pinterest?
