Hello Red Team!
Welcome to the 2013 Biggest Loser Frozen Fiesta Challenge!

This is the Red Team weekly chat thread. We encourage all team members to participate in the chat thread to give & receive support for the up's & down's of our new lifestyle.

A little bit about me:
My name is Mel, an American living in Canada. I have 3 kids ages:12, 10 & 8.
I started my lifestyle change in Jan 2009. I've lost just over 60 pounds.

I'm an on again off again runner.

This is my 5th? challenge as Red Team Leader & I've lost count of how many challenges I've participated in.

Share as much or as little about yourself as you would like.

Remember this is a positive, supportive, environment.

You must participate in the weekly chat thread to be named the weekly biggest loser.

The Red Team weekly weigh in thread is located here. You may weigh in (post your weight) on whatever day of the week works best for you. Just be sure to post your weight before 6pm central time on Sundays (our first weigh in is Sunday January 13th)
Your starting weight is the weight you posted in the sign up thread- please do not edit your starting weight.

Hi Red Team! This is my 2nd challenge on the Red Team and I love the accountability and support it provides. So looking forward to getting back on track after the holidays.

A little about me. My name is Rosa and I live in Victoria, BC Canada. I have a 4.5 year old daughter and her father and I are getting married this September. I work as a counselor for socially at-risk pregnant and early parenting women.

I started this journey on June 19, 2012 and have lost 53 lbs to date.

Can't wait to get to know you all!

HI Red team! I am a 44 yr old mom of 4. I have been married 24 years. I work from home but I am slowly adding exercise to my life. I gained weight with each pregnancy and have been diagnosed with a chronic medical condition. The meds I took for a while caused a large jump in weight.
I started my journey on December 23rd 2012. I have lost 10 lbs so far.
I am so excited about doing this challenge with everyone!

Hey everyone!
I'm a 29 year old single paraeducator and student living in Vermont. I've been through some rough patches over the past few years as my health has not been ideal. Ironically some of my health problems have made it difficult to lose weight, but are also the reason why I had those health problems...
After having my doctor sit me down and tell me that I'm killing myself I realized that I needed to make a real change. So here I am!

Hi everyone! I'm Paula and this is my 3rd challenge. For some reason I logged in under this old name but it's okay because I like using my real name better.

I'm excited about the challenge this time around because I've gained 9 lbs over the past few months. I am eager to get myself going in the right direction and this challenge is a great motivator.

I'll be 51 next month, I have 2 teen sons and I'm in the middle of divorcing. Looking back maybe that explains the 9 lb weight gain. Oh, and the love affair I'd developed with jelly beans of all things!

Hi all,
I'm Kris, this is my third challenge. I've lost 100 pounds on Medifast since April 2011, and am struggling to lose the last 25 pounds. I'm actually UP 6 pounds from my low weight in October, and up a couple from my starting weight for the challenge. My fluctuations started when my synthroid dose was lowered (thanks, doc), but I'm getting bloodwork done this week. I'm bringing my weight diary to the appointment with me. Here's hoping that's the problem. if not, I will have to consider switching plans.

I'm Nicole. I'm a full time student, part time undergrad researcher in one of the labs, and I have two elementary age kids and a husband who is thankfully unemployed for now.

I'm a runner. I started running back in Aug to run the Princess Half Marathon at Disney World. Now I'm planning a bunch of 1/2 marathons in 2013, and I'm even considering a full marathon in Dec.

Greetings, red team! I'm glad to be here.

I'll probably be the grandma of the team since I am 71 but I am active at the gym and a lifetime member of Weight Watchers. I have osteoporosis and for every inch I lose (3 so far), I need to lose 5 pounds to stay at a healthy weight. Needless to say, I haven't lost those 15 yet so that is my goal for now.

Hello Red Team!!!! My name is Ayesha, I am 32 years old. I am the proud mother of a beautiful 5 month old little girl. Prior to getting pregnant I was about 170 but the stress of going through a very complicated pregnancy (including a month of hospitized bedrest) and time with baby in the NICU has caused me to pack on the pounds. Baby is 100% health and now it is time for me to be also. I am pumped and ready to go. SO...LETS GO RED TEAM!!!!
First challenge WLC.

Hi everyone! I have signed up for many of these challenges, but never finished one. My goal is to be accountable every week and finish this challenge. Course I'd like to lose 20 pounds over the next 13 weeks also!

Hi everybody! My name is Jen, and this is my first challenge. I kinda participated in this forum years ago, did great with losing weight and then got a bit depressed when I didn't get a job after graduating college. I ended up gaining it all back and then a lot.

But now I'm 27, work full time doing taxes for Walmart and Sams and going to school full time to get my MAT and hopefully be an elementary school teacher in a year and a half.

I'm hoping this challenge will help me stay motivated this year when everything goes crazy with return season and school.

I look forward to getting to know all of you!

Hi Red Team!

My name is Amanda and I'm 27 years old. I currently live in South Korea and am an English teacher here but I am originally from Ontario.

I have been overweight my entire life and alternate between dieting and loving my big body. I realized last year that as much as I don't mind being a bit bigger I need to be in much better shape and losing weight will help that! I also got engaged last May and I don't want to be a fat bride.

I'm hoping to lose 20 pounds during this challenge which will get me pretty close to my current goal and then I can reassess to see how low I can go.

Hi all! I am a soon-to-be 25 yr old (my birthday is on the 21st) who is starting her first real world job tomorrow morning. I graduated with my masters last year and am starting 2013 with a bang by moving over 1000 mi from home and starting a new life, career, and adventure. I moved to just outside of NYC and I don't know a soul here. I've lost about 35 lbs in the latter part of last year. I am currently living in a hotel until my apartment is ready. *fingers crossed for next weekend* I hope to continue losing weight even though I have piled on the stress and uprooted my whole life.
