So, I knew I was riding this train, and I chose not to get off.
(The cookie, cheese and booze train, that is...)
Now after almost 2 weeks, I'm up almost 5 pounds, which as we all know took much longer than 2 weeks to lose!!! I just have to put it out there... BOO!
I am bummed, but ready to get back in the saddle (apparently, I was riding a train, and am now on horseback... makes sense - horseback is a much slower journey)!
I need to rachet up the accountability. Is anyone starting a January challenge? I'd love to join.
Went to WW Weigh In this morning and was up 7 pounds from the last time I went in the middle of December. BOO!!! But, I'm ready to start anew and get back into it starting right now!
The meeting was so energized this morning. Even our leader had a rough time over the holidays and we shared our war stories and then everyone really seemed ready to go for the upcoming week. Back to the routine and back to the grind
Ok, can I join? Started yesterday, online. Gained over the holidays too - I weigh exactly what I weighed last January when I vowed to make the change. Very depressing. I haven't figured out the little stats info yet, but I'm almost 44, 5'3 and 136lbs. 2012 was not one of my happier ones, not sure if this one will be better. But I have to control what I eat and my fitness. Hello!
From the week before Thanksgiving to now, I have maintained (which to me, is better than my standard 5lb weight gain). What helped is that over the 6 weeks, most weeks, I would gain 1lb or so, I had a few weeks where I was Gung-ho and lost 2-4lbs a week. Call me an under-achiever, but maintaining over the holidays is good enough for me
Moonshell, I wouldn't call that being an under-achiever. We actually had a program back in early summer, before vacation time, where we divided a sheet of paper in 3 sections, called Lose, Maintain, Gain. We wrote down things we would need to do in order to make all three happen, and then the choice was ours. That made us own our actions, and be able to accept the consequences and continue without either feeling guilty or deprived. Sometimes maintenance is the perfect solution!
Me too!! Same here gained 5 lbs over the holidays. It was a hard holiday for me (well eating/tracking wise). My fault of course been over indulging. Parties here and there. Sweets here and there. Alcohol here and there hehehe. Well of course bummed about it! But I told myself that I need to get back on track. I have been in this weight for 3 1/2 monts now. Been stuck! But enough is enough. I will be back on track!! And this time I MEAN IT!! Good luck to all of us in getting back on track!
Anybody else finding it a tad difficult to get back on track? There were still too many temptations in my house so I cleaned out the fridge/pantry yesterday, then this morning tossed a whole bucket of fancy chocolate popcorn someone gave us as a gift. Today is a fresh new day, feel much more prepared!
Vegan Gypsy, I think tossing the temptations is a great idea! I have 5 kids (who would be rather upset if there were NO sweets/ snacks in the house!), so I have been "hiding" the treats - from me! I keep fruits stocked and in sight, so when I'm hungry I see those first. (Still, it takes a moment to wean off of the sugar and the larger portions).
I'm headed back down, but so wanted to be in the 170's by now. (And I was - just before Christmas)!
