Default If you know you are going to be kicked out of ketosis, best way to bounce back?

I have to go for some tests on Thursday, that involve me drinking some sugary drinks. There is no alternative, and no avoiding this test.

Does anyone have any suggestions for how I could do to mitigate the damage? Maybe try and exercise right after the test to burn extra carbs? I certainly WILL NOT be having my restricted snack that day.

Thank you!

My suggestion would be to just do your test and get right back into P1 as soon as you are able to do so. Sometimes there are things that are just unavoidable, and it sounds like this is a medical thing, so you have to do it. Not eating your restricted is a good idea, but otherwise, don't stress about it. Just jump right back into P1 when you can. Otherwise, I don't know what else you can do.

it's unavoidable so just accept as it is. Avoid your restricted and I'd say the next day too. Get back on track right away. I remember when I read the book it tells you when you get off track you have 24 hours to get back on with minimal damage but that was awhile ago, so don't quote me

I suggest drink tons of water and stay off restricted items and make sure your eating the lowest carb veggies. It won't take any time at all to get back. Best of luck.

Exercise isn't going to speed the process, your best bet is to just do what you need to for your health, then back on plan as soon as you can eat. It'll be nothing more than a bump in the road!

Thanks all for the responses. I guess there is no real magic bullet. I appreciate all the suggestions. I have been so thrilled with my weight loss so far, I am so reluctant to have it derailed, even temporarily.

You do not have to worry, at all about this. Ketosis is not why you're losing fat. Fat loss or gain is an equation of energy. A sugary drink adds at most 150-200 calories to your total which is nothing.
