So, my lovely wedding dress has been sitting in it's box since the week after we got married. I don't have a huge sentimental attachment to the dress itself, but I want to get back to that healthy happy weight. My goal is to accomplish this by Christmas. I have a lovely 7 month old son who is the light of my life.
My friend, who turned me onto IP and has lost 35 lbs has had 3 kids and is about 15-20 lbs away from her goal. She too has her wedding dress in the closet.
SO, after Christmas, she and I are going out in our wedding dresses to dinner. People may think we just got married LOL but that is fine with us as we have something to celebrate!!!!!!!
It seems a fun way to celebrate and poke a little fun at the situation too. And i get ot wear that dress one last time.
My girlfriends and I have done Formal Bowling in the past....find an old prom/wedding/etc gown, and hit the local bowling alley! Nothing beats the looks on people's faces when you walk in and strap on those bowling oxfords

Great goal and a fun one at that! You are going to have to post pictures of the occasion.
My wedding dress was my first goal weight too -- I decided to get down to what I weighed 15 years ago. However, now that's only 12 pounds away (wooo hooo) so I've lowered my standards (or raised them?) and am working on another 20 pounds afterward. But as soon as I can get into that dress, I'm wearing it to my "ladies night" to show it off!
I know, I'm not sure if that will be my final weight or not........I may want to go another 5 lbs. I know in my mind I want to be a comfy 8, I can maintain that and it looks good on me and is healthy! With my young son, and a pretty active social life, I don't want to set a goal weight that keeps me miserable as far as eating.
I have done this.....I was married 25 yrs ago, divorced 7 yrs now. My dress is in the closet at my mom's house.....when I got to 250 I tried it on and it was TOO BIG...I am way smaller now than I was 25 yrs ago....then she said hang on....she went and tried HER wedding dress on from 45 yrs ago and HERS was TOO BIG as well.....was a great feeling for both of us for sure!
I think I will pull out my box of dresses; my wedding dress is the goal I was working towards anyways, I just had not put the action together with the idea!
AND I think I will work my way through my bridesmaid dresses...all 8 of them...I covered a range of sizes!!
Thanks for the boost in fun while enjoying this IP journey
What a fun idea. Mine has been packed away for almost 29 years now, and I doubt very much my daughter will want to wear it when she gets married. So, I just might have to pull it out when I get to goal (that was my weight when I got married) and see how it fits.
I've never been thin so my dress will (hopefully!) never fit me again. And I'm kind of okay with that. But it would be super fun to have that to aim for as a goal!
