I feel ya. My co-worker keeps a huge bowl of circus peanuts on his desk. He is the office 'water cooler' everyone goes to his desk to gossip about what's going on. I can hear people cracking peanuts all day. But, I just think to my self: "He he he, I lost another pound and you didn't! Keep eating those peanuts."
The office candy jar was a major culprit in my weight gain the last year. It's always filled to the brim with mini candy bars - my favorite. In a moment of weakness I looked up the carb and calorie count for a mini Milky Way bar but I ended up talking myself down and I'm so glad I did. Now I just listen to y coworkers getting into it all the time, and while I wont ever cheat, that jar still tempts me!
I asked if I could be the one to fill the candy jar in the lounge! I filled that bad boy with stuff that I don't like so now I'm not even glancing except to see if it needs to be refilled!
Ugh , my office not only has candy but the order in lunch quite often.. Makes me look like a freak that I stick to my veggies and jello at lunch... But I stay OP anyway

I love tha phrase "office water cooler". We have one of those too!!! I also watch people eating cookies and candy and silently congratulate myself for staying OP.
I worked from home today so I avoided all of the pitfalls at work- only to have my three year old come home from daycare with a bag of candy from the pinata party they had at school today. So now I have Tootsie Pops in my house- boo!
We have vendors bring in breakfast and cookies several times a week. This week we've had three days of cinnamon rolls and kolaches (dozens and dozens), breakfast burritos, bagels. Ugh! It's really a shame how much those people bring us! There are only about a dozen of us and things always get eaten. But, not by me!
I am pretty lucky. The office staff/teachers pretty much order Jimmy Johns only and they make wonderful lettuce wraps so I am never left out or wishing I could participate.
Oh Boy...same thing here...2 sales reps brought in treats today..Bagels with cream cheese..pastries..a BIG bowl of fruit..chocolate chip cookies...etc... HUGE NSV...I ate my veggies and salad and had un-sweetened ice tea for my "treat".......OYE VE!!!
Sorry guys, I'm one of the evil co-workers with a full candy jar. I also buy a cupboard of food to have on hand for my team at all times. However they also have a fridge to store fresh healthy choices or snack on my pickle stash. The funny thing about all this food around me though is that I became immune to it several years before IP. I have it to get others to come visit my remote corner of the building but rarely ever ate it myself. It's just one of many food lessons that we have to learn to deal with in life.
I sneezed , blew my nose and coughed, before I dumped these goodies in front of you!
I'm not a germaphobe or clean freak, but, office candy, etc., that anyone and everyone is allowed to stick the fingers in,,,, I know where my fingers have been, but I don't know where yours have been, a bit freaky if you ask me.
I find that if I go a few days without sugar (or refined flour) I don't want it very much anymore. My mind doesn't automatically think of the taste of a "snickers" when I see a snickers wrapper- it could be tiny soaps for all I care when I'm not eating sugar.
Also, diet soda makes it much, much worse. It actually makes me hungrier, and for sugar more than anything. Diet drinks (like water enhancers) without aspartame are usually okay for me and don't make me crave sweets like diet coke does.
I'm definitely an office-candy picker! But the secretary who has candy on my floor is SO sweet. We've made friends. I just try to keep myself in check. Yesterday I allowed myself 12 skittles (50 cals) haha. And as for the ick-factor, thankfully she's smart and keeps a spoon on a napkin by the bowl, no hands allowed!
