Anyone know how to crisp it without buring it?? I have a recipe for brussel sprouts with bacon and garlic and its soooo good but I dont want to use reg bacon cause of the fat and cals. But i have a hard time making turkey bacon crispy. Any Suggestions??

I just keep cooking it in a pan until it crisps. It takes a while, but it works Another option is using center-cut pork bacon instead. The calories are comparable.

I bake the turkey bacon. Spritz it with a little Pam before baking, and it crisps up just fine.

yep, in the micro on paper towel, very crisp, short cooking time. It takes about 1 and a half minutes in mine.

I used to do that with most of the store brands, but when I started buying the chopped and formed turkey bacon, it just doesn't taste good that way.

I should have said this before, but if I need crumbled bacon, I cut it in small pieces and cook it until crispy. It never gets crisp enough for me to crumble because lean meat doesn't crumble the same way fatty meat does.

Not only that, but turkeys don't have any part of their bodies that can be cut into bacon... think about that. blech. Both kinds of bacon have 70 calories and 6 grams of fat per serving, but turkey bacon has more sodium (around a whopping 360 milligrams of salt).

I'd rather choose the tastier, more natural food for the same amount of calories... call me crazy.

Wink

Jossfit, the trader Joe's bacon is just turkey thighs chopped and formed into strips. It tastes more like another meat (almost Canadian bacon-y) than straight up bacon but it's pretty good.

ummm! I buy the butterball bacon and always put it in the microwave, it is so crispy you can crumble it easily. I don't use any other brand. Maybe some of them won't work so well. My micro is 1100 watts...may make a difference? It just makes it so easy. No muss, no fuss!
