I can't recall the name of this particular supplement at the moment - I'm at work and dont have the bottle with me - the vitamins are in my pill organizer ...
See here - this sucker is huge and I struggle everyday to get it down. Do you all think it's ok to crack it open and mix it in with my water or shake ... Or do I have to swallow the clear plastic capsule it comes with?
That looks like the multi-vitamin. You should have one with breakfast and one with supper. I think it would be ok to crack it open and mix it with your drink, although I don't know how it would affect the taste. I'm thinking I'd rather just swallow the pill, but then I don't have an issue with the size of it
If you think those things are bad in the pill, wait until you crack one open. Gag is an understatement for me, but if the swallowing is what's getting you, then try it broken and see if that helps, bad taste is better than no vitamin i'm sure
This is probably more effort than it's worth but if mixing doesn't work you could always buy empty capsules that are smaller and transfer the contents to them.
The more times I read it(what I typed) the goofier it sounds but it's a possible solution.
It is a multivitamin and it's really not that big. Thanks for reminding me I needed to take my morning suplements and medicine.
I take all six of these at once. So just take your medicine!
Ok my response was slowed because I had to take a photo. Folks put your big girl and big boy pants on and just take the pill. You're not 9 years old any more. I am smiling as I type this but I feel like I'm trying to talk my kids into taking their medicine. It's good for you.
I suppose you could mix it with water, that's how I get my kids to take their Vitamin D powdered supplement.

But indeed, some people have problems taking pills of any form and this particular one is a massive struggle for me. It may not be big to some folks, but for others, it is. I gag it back up and ... well - let's just say it's not pretty. I'll keep dissolving it into my shake until I talk to my coach at my next weigh in.
I was just wondering about breaking open the capsule and Annie, you hit the nail right on the head ... I hadn't even thought about the time release issue.
I stopped the potassium pill in the morning because I had stomach aches. I just had to re adjust my big boy undies. Glad you took my teasing well, that's the way I intended it.
I agree with the poster, some pills are just TOO BIG for some of us to swallow, I solve this by finding a smaller pill you may need to take more than one at a time but thay will be easier to swallow.
But I mean - goodness mercy almighty - this is a real battle for me. I'll make it thru but it aint pretty for me.
Glad to see I'm not the only one finding them huge!

I know this may be sacrilegious but you could use a non IP pill, someone just said it above but you might compare labels and find one with the same ingredients in a smaller pill.

I am sure there is I would bring the bottle to the local pharmacy, walmart what ever store you use and just compare labels. I would go to my local pharmacy and ask the pharmacist for help. It may be quite a bit cheaper too. Let us know what ya find out. If not Thorfinn said he would split the pills and put them in smaller capsules for you. And I am a little hurt nobody made any funny jokes or remarks about my GINORMOUS paw in my photo.
Oh and it's Metformin 1000 mg, Crestor 20 mg, Benicar 40 mg the 2 Cal-Mag and the Multi Vitamin.
