Default A Different Kinda Scale Hate

I'm out of town Fri & Sat and starting the program on Monday - so I signed up for it today, Thursday, met w/my coach, loaded upon all the products, grocery shopped, etc.

When they weighed me today, I was so disappointed (please dont laugh - I know this is prolly a really, really small thing) in the scale they used. It was a digital scale ... and I hate those - then, it looked so flimsy. It looked something like this

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...ndingMethod=rr

http://www.target.com/p/precision-on...e/-/A-13773089

I was thinking I'd be weighed on something more like:

http://www.target.com/p/salter-acade...e/-/A-10019474

or

http://www.healthchecksystems.com/d439.htm

I mad mention of it but was just told, "oh dont worry about it - it'll be fine".

I guess they're right? I suppose that in the end, as long as I'm consistently weighed on that! scale, it'll be fine/consistent/ok.

What kind of scale does your coach weigh you on?

Hi there! My coach uses the same one as the healthchecksystems one. We have one of those at work as well. I think they are the most accurate scales out there. We have the same one at home as the walmart, and it shows me about 3 pounds lighter than the one from my coaches clinic. After WI #1, it was still 3 pounds lighter than the one at the clinic. In the end, they all should work the same way.

My coach uses the one like the healthchecksystem one as well. I find it pretty accurate.

I wouldn't be that concerned about the digital scale - they are typically pretty accurate. Plus, you will be weighing in on the same scale each week, so if it is off by 1 or 2 pounds, you will always be off by 1 or 2 pounds.

My clinic uses the same Walmart scale as you linked to ... it has always been consistent with my scale at home and I recheck every week. They always make sure that you WI on the same scale you started with (I always use that exact same scale even though they are all the same type) so I think that as long as you use that scale every week there won't be any issues.

Don't worry about it too much- even if it is a slightly inaccurate scale, you will still see the downward trend in your weight. Keep focused on the broad picture

Ditto what everyone else says. We have a nice digital scale and I actually prefer digital vs. the "doctor" scales. Again, as long as you're consistent on the same scale each week it's not an issue.

My fiance weighs in at another center and they make him weigh with his shoes on vs. mine. He was a little upset because it shows more weight for him, but again, same weight loss number in general.

My clinic uses a scale called Tanita, body composition analyzer. It tells me the following results, the only thing I don't like is the metabolic age! I am also measured everytime and the coach writes this on my read out along with the weight loss.

Weight
Fat %
Fat Mass
FFM
Muscle Mass
TBW
TBW%
Bone Mass
BMR
Metabolic Age
Visceral Fat Rating
BMI
Ideal Body Weight
Degree of Obesity
