Default What are your favourite workout songs?

Sometimes I find the beat of a song can make a huge impact on my workout!

Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!

When I first started, I used to powerwalk to the Beatles 1 album. They never fail to put me in a good mood. Now, I have a mad mix of 80's power ballads and punk (If you consider Me First & the Gimme Gimmes punk), There's something about taking an old, classic song, and revving it up that gets me moving. I love classic Rock, so John Cougar Mellencamp, Billy Joel, and classic Michael Jackson make the cut.

Lately, I've been kind of burnt on my music (and too broke to buy new) so I've taken to watching movies and tv shows on Netflix on my phone while I'm working out.

Watching Netflix is a great idea and something I should look into.

I find that my playlist is boring me these days cause it's just the same old songs over and over. When I go to the gym the exercise machines have TVs on them but basic cable has become very pathetic lol.

I have a lot of current stuff mixed with some older stuff. The one that starts me off first is JLo and Pitbull - on the floor.

I love loud, crappy pop for workouts -- it's what gets me though it and keeps me working hard throughout. I need a lot of variety, too, so I add and remove stuff every week. But I do have a short list of ~best workout songs ever~ that I never seem to get sick of:

Kid Sister - Get Fresh
Girlicious - Maniac
Wonder Girls - Stop!
Nadiya - Parle-Moi
Kevin Rudolf - She Can Get It
Dal Shabet - Dal Shabet

The latest?

Martin Solveig and Dragonette: "Hello"
("You're all right but I'm here, darling, to enjoy the party ... You're all right, but I'm here, darling, to enjoy the party.")

"Shake It," Metro Station
For very fast cardio intervals, can't beat it.

"Drive By," Train
("I'm just a shy guy/Looking for a two-ply/Hefty bag to hold my love.") I am particularly fascinated by this line. It's a totally unexpected rhyme and yet it sounds exactly like many guys I know and the things they'd write in email or inside a card when they're trying they'd try to be romantic (and kind of failing, in a completely adorable way).

I just use iheartradio and tune into alt rock from all over the country. If I really need a push, punk or electronica does it for me every time

Most definitely queenie it keeps me interested because if I'm going for a longer workout, I'll do a movie, otherwise I'll watch tv shows.

I can never operate the tvs on the machines in our gym. I don't have satellite myself, and I can't figure out how to make the darn remote work. I end up feeling like a monkey with a fork.

What are some of your favourite songs? Techno definitely gets me pumped and I always try to work out to the beat of the songs lol. But it's hard for me to find songs that I really enjoy
