Cool Did a 5 mile hike yesterday!

It was super fun! Me, my fiancé, and my 5 year old. It was nice we started early in the morning before it got really hot and only took us 2 hours. It was eventful for sure. My fiancé led the pack then myself then my son kept close behind me. At one point my fiancé didn't see a snake but I did, it was coiled up I told my guy to go go go(he wanted to look behind an see what was up but I was like nooo grrr), and I swooped up my son and went forward quickly, then I told them what I saw, my fiancé was bummed he didn't get to see it hah men. After we left the trail we came home had lunch and got dressed for the beach (he lives in panama city, gorgeous beaches!!) well we're in the car and I noticed I picked up a passenger even tho we did a tick check afterwards, wasn't a big deal one plus from growing up in the woods you don't panic about ticks and you just get it out. It was a great day I just wanted to share that was the longest I've ever walked it deffinately gave me the hiking bug, and the want to explore what's in my back yard, and my son did really well and he enjoyed it quite a bit, I think this is a new thing for us, I really want to raise him healthy and living a more active life. Give him more of a chance than I was given to be healthy.

Yay long post sorry!!

Congrats Thedollylala! You and I had the same idea yesterday, minus the beach for me. I'm planning our next big walk for Thursday, my next day off from work. Trying to chose where to go right now, there's a lot of options in my area.

That's awesome, Thedollylala! I used to hike a lot when I lived in rural Southern Illinois, but since moving to the heart of Dallas-Fort Worth, not so much. They do have some nice fitness trails here, though, but just gotta go walk before it gets too hot!

Way to go! You see things totally differently when you get to walk by and take them in. I did this along the river the other day and noticed things I never noticed just driving by.
