Default How accurate really is the BodPod?

I said when I got to my goal weight, I would try out the bodpod to see what my body fat percentage is. (Goal is under 25%).

Well, today while I was at orientation for my new job, I saw in the activities handbook that there is a bodpod testing for $55 on July 7th or something like this. My goal is to get to goal by the time we leave on vacation on July 17th. So this is perfect!

I know it's probably silly to pay money to find out a body fat percentage, but when you are not a light weight... I kind of want REAL affirmation that my body fat is good - as the scale will always look high (or maybe it shouldn't?) Ack!

Anyway... how are these for accuracy? Anyone have it done?

I've not had it done, but I've thought about it, and if I had the opportunity to do it for $55 I definitely would! I don't think there is anything that is going to be perfectly accurate, but from what I've seen & read the BodPod is supposed to be one of the highest accuracy methods out there.

Echoing chickadee - it's one of the higher accuracy methods. And it means you don't have to get dunked underwater or something! I got to go in one last year, it was a cool experience in itself so I definitely recommend it if you have access to one! (My reading was 31% at the time - I'd love to get another test to see how it has change since I've lost ~15 pounds since then!)
