Thumbs up May Weight Loss Challenge

Shorts and bathing suits and sundresses, oh my! The warm weather is upon us (ok, it's upon some of us, and the rest of you will have it soon!), which means less clothing to hide behind! Lose a few lbs in May, and you'll be feeling good and confident when you're showing a bit more skin this summer.

The rules of our challenge are simple. We are here to provide each other some accountability along the path to weight loss, so just set a weight loss related goal(s) and I'll add it to our goal list for the month of April. When you reach your goal for the month it will be turned RED in our goal list!

We have a sister thread for exercise goals, http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/chic...challenge.html, and all your exercise-related goals can be posted there; this thread is for weight loss goals specifically.

We love to hear about your success as well as your challenges throughout the month, so please share them with us. We're here to support and encourage each other to be our best.

Remember that no matter what your May goal is, it's sticking with it that really counts in the end. Good luck to everyone this month!!

I'll be doing hormone injections from this weekend through the remainder of the month, and those mess with my weight, so my goal for May is simply to still be in the 130s (anywhere in the 130s!) at month's end. I'm also making it a goal to log every single bite I eat this month, including estimates for meals out, since I've been slacking a bit on that lately. I'm hoping that will help keep me on track when the hormones are making me ravenous!

Chick - hormone injections? That must be rough! Sending good thoughts your way this month.

Starting in at 225 - I need to cruise into the "teens" again - going for -8lbs.

Well my weight has spiked up between yesterday and today grr... but okay I'm starting at 142.6lbs

Goal is just to get to 140.0 at some point this month.. yup just to lose 2.6lbs this month.

Good luck with those hormone injections chickadee, I'm sure with your determination you will stay in the 130's all month long! Logging my food intake has been a big help on this journey and has definitely helped me stay on track.

My goal is to be at 140. I'm hoping more outdoor activity (if it ever warms up here!) will be helpful. Lose It tells me gardening and yardwork burn lots of calories - not sure I believe it, but it's gotta be better than sitting inside!

I'd like to break back into Onederland. So my goal is to be anywhere under 199.9 by the end of the month. Starting at 205.2 this morning.

Chickadee - with your challenges, that sounds like a great goal!

dcapulet - Good luck getting into teens!

PaintedButterfly - It's not "just" 2.6lbs... it's a whopping 2.6lbs at the point you are at. That would be a great goal hit!!!

minoja - that would be a HUGE loss for you in a short time :O Good luck to you girl!!!

magsabags - Good luck with your 5lbs!

Kim - Good luck with the 8lbs!!! That's not an easy accomplishment, but no doubt it can be done

gardnerjoy - You are doing amazing! I am betting you can do that goal and then some!

Steph - Good luck on your goal!!!! Outside activities sure do help

knob - Good luck hitting Onederland!!! We can't wait to welcome you in!!!

ashori - I feel ya! I was at the same (give or take 5lbs) for a LONG time... stay with it and it moves Good luck on your goal this month!

aniela - Good luck on your Onederland goal too!! We can have a big ol' Onederland party for you and knob when you make it!

miatutu - That sounds like a great goal! Good luck to ya

For me... now that I am finally seeing some movement, I am shooting for 183. That's probably steep considering that I JUST finally started seeing consistent movement on the scale again, but the way I figure it - each month I miss by mere ounces... so set it higher and lose more even if I miss by ounces again
