Default How much does your TOM affect your weight?

I've only been at the weight loss thing for shy of 2 months, so I haven't paid much attention to how menstruation affects my weight. But I have noticed a lot of you guys commenting on your TOM, and weighing in afterwards.

So how much do you normally gain before hand, and when does it drop off. I know this will differ from person to person, I'm just curious to hear.

I'm actually on my TOM right now, and didn't gain anything, but the scale was a bit sticky last week, leading up to it. After starting it, I seem to have dropped almost 2 pounds, but I'm not sure if this is a TOM trend, because I'll often have 5 days or so with little change, and then drop a couple pounds.

I think I'll start paying a bit more attention to how this goes in the next few months.

I gain TOM weight at different parts of the month. Its odd. Sometimes I will gain up to 4ish pounds 1-2 weeks before hand and by the time TOM hits, it goes away. Other months I will gain during TOM and it takes about a week afterwards to go away. Usually it is about 3-4 pounds that I gain.

I only weigh myself on the 1st of each month & my TOM is the third week of the month but i wouldn't weigh myself during TOM even if i did weigh more then just once a month....but I can say that i feel different on my TOM and my clothes fit slightly different..i'd say i gain about 2-4lbs on my TOM and that bigger feeling i get during it goes away within a day ..two at tops...of it stopping =]

I can gain anywhere from 5 to 10 pounds just being on close to and on TOM. Usually once the bleeding is done I'm back down to my original weight. At least thats what it seems like.

TOM messes with my mind because I don't gain, but I don't lose either! I'm harder on my body and eat less/workout more when its TOM and yet the scale shows NOTHING which frustrates me.

I usually gain 2-3 pounds a week before, hold it for a few days, and then start losing it. By the time TOM actually hits, I'm usually back to normal weight. If I'm lucky, I'll drop another pound..

Some months my body goes all screwy though. Last month I gained 5 a week and 1/2 before starting, and held onto the weight until a few days after I finished 0.o Freaked me out beyond belief since I thought it was an actual gain 0.o

The week or so before TOM, I'll find my weight won't budge on the scale no matter how hard I'm going at it. One day it'll just go up 2-3 lbs (unexplained), then the day of TOM or day before TOM, I get rid of the gain + the weight I should have loss during the stall. In the beginning of my journey, I was not used to seeing this and I was super distraught with the stall and gain but I soon got used to how my body "works"

This month, I gained 3lbs the day before I started. I've been going for one day, and I've lost 2 of the pounds so far. Hopefully I'll drop more.

It's usually 2-3 pounds. The weight creeps up slowly during TOM and then goes down practically overnight once it's over.

I'm so glad I found this thread! I was wondering the exact same thing about how TOM affects weight. Pre-TOM this month I was at 191.2 and since starting it has gone up to 192.something ... I can't get it to move back down from 192! I'm about 5 days into TOM so I thought it would go back down by now but no such luck, scale is not budging an ounce for the past several days. Really hoping that once it's completely gone for good I will start going back down.

Good luck to you all!

Well I started my reboot yesterday knowing full well I start TOM this week. And started today.... Feel like I swallowed a bowling ball and cramps galore.

I also started a new a new birth control pill to top it off.... Joy :-/

I live a scale free life so I don't know about weight but I am sure it isn't pretty.

4-6 lb water gain the week before, followed by a week of maintenance, followed by the 4-6 coming off followed by a 2-3lb extra woosh. Then a week of maintenance and it starts all over again.
