Default Ideal protein meat selection ok?

Can I eat beef ribs occasionally in Phase One if they are not BBQ'd?

I think any meat is okay, but watch the fat content in the meat itself and the preparation. I'm thinking beef ribs have less fat than pork spareribs, but still, I wouldn't have it too often.

Below is the listed for the types of Dinner Proteins that are allowed. I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I don't think ribs are the best option because of the fat content they have. It's best to pick the leanest of meats when on Phase 1.

Dinner Protein (Suggested Options) - No frying or breading permitted.
Fish: Anchovy, Bass, Catfish, Cod, Grouper, Haddock, Halibut, Hake, Mahi-Mahi, Monk Fish, Pike, Perch, Red
Snapper, Redfish, Sea Bass, Shark, Smelt, Sole, Sword Fish, Tilapia, Tuna (Red Tuna--1 per week), Trout, Turbot,
Whiting, Walleye, Wild Salmon (1 per week) Seafood: Crab, Crawfish, Clams, Lobster, Mussels, Oysters, Shrimp,
Scampi, Scallops (4 large), Squid
Beef: Flank Steak, Ground Beef (extra lean), Rump Steak, Roast, Sirloin, Round, Tournedos, Tenderloin
Veal: Breast, Cutlet, Inside Round Steak, Rib, Shank, Shoulder, Tenderloin
Poultry: Chicken (skinless), Fowl, Quail, Turkey, Whole Eggs (2), Wild Birds
Pork: Ham (cooked and fat free), Pork Tenderloin
Other: Bison, Deer, Elk, Frog’s Legs, Kidney, Liver, Ostrich, Rabbit

You're right... after being on IP for so long, it's good to go back to the basics and read what they told us again. I kept that list on my refrigerator and it's still there. I never had anything that was not on the list. It really is better, especially in the beginning, to just do what they told us and not look for ways to get around it. At least then you'll know whether your progress is because of water weight or whatever. Got to give IP a fair chance....
