Smile Hello I am new and looking for buddies!

Hello all my name is Lisa and I am 29 I will be 30 this coming summer July 7th. I weigh 280 I want to be at a small goal of 250 by the summer.

I have female issues going on I tried everything and now I need to be healthier before the big Hysterectomy! I am seeing an endometriosis specialist.

So I need to be healthy in general but healthier for other events as well.

I would love to make new friends on here and get into the groove of using this messageboard. Yes I am a dork I use words like groove

By the way I'm addicted to all the smilies.

Nice to meet you all!
Lisa

Welcome to the forum! I am sorry about the medical issues you are facing but so happy that you have joined us!
Do you know what food plan you are going to follow? There is a ton of information about many different food plans on this site. Pick a plan that fits in your lifestyle and you can follow long term. I chose calorie counting because it is free and flexible. It allows me to eat almost anything I wanted as long as it fits within my calorie range for the day and there are ton of free apps out there to help you track your food.
Give up the sugary drinks and drink lots and lots of water.
Incorporate some exercise into your weekly routine. You do not have to join an expensive gym try to walk more, use the stairs more, download videos off of YouTube or Hulu.com to work out to. There are a lot of things you can to do with spending a ton of money.
Lastly, if you have a bad meal, a bad day, heck, a bad food week. Do NOT let this be a reason to throw in the towel. Get back on track at the next meal. You can do this!!!
Best of luck to you!

Hi Lisa! I'm new too!

I also have a lot of physical issues. I know weight loss will make me feel better as I'm sure it will you. I have small goals as well. I started at 243, last year lost 26 lbs (in about 6 months) then gained around 14 back (i'll know for sure tonight, probably more). Ugh!!! So I'm climbing back on the saddle! Oh... and I'm 31! So we are close in age. We can do this girl!!!

Thank you so much for the responses and encourgaing words!

I am also on Sparkpeople so I track my calories there which makes it easy. I love how this site has a nice blog to it.

I have cut out soda and sugary drinks and just drink the milk I am allowed and water. I see a dietician as well but haven't been following her advice due to lack of motivation. I need to really get that under control.

I love Zumba and dancing.

Lisa
