Default big wrench in my efforts

or should i say pliers?

i have a partially impacted wisdom tooth, and something is going on with the top one, too. the swelling is so bad that it hurts to talk... so i had to call out of work (there goes that activity for the day). i can't imagine going to the gym because my increased heart rate will resonate in my mouth with an intense throbbing pain.

basically i'm lethargic and downing ice cream and icee fruit things and therefore over-eating too.

my appointment isn't until thursday. ughhhhhh...

As a frequent sufferer of toothaches I can give you some food ideas: boiled and mashed carrots, blended greens with fruit (can be done without freezing if you're cold sensitive), fish is softest protein, also can eat tomato soup etc. I hope they get you fixed up soon!

I'd say pop some aspirin and do whatever light activity you can around the house. Take the time to tidy up, do some laundry and maybe even a few crunches.
The least it will do is keep your hands occupied so you won't be able to eat.
Blend up some of that frozen fruit for a drink and use Tiffany's suggestions for meals.
You'll be back in action soon and won't be feeling down and out because of the guilt of overindulging.

Well, this answered the question I put on another thread. LOL! That really stinks. I agree with imperialistic and take some pain relievers. Do what you can. If it makes you feel any better, when I had my first wisdom tooth pulled I lost about 20 pounds in a week. I couldn't eat anything. Hang in there!

lol, i'm hanging in. thanks for the reply. i got meds for pain from the doctor because i am all swollen/infected. they make me super tired and i guess i feel like i deserve a break, so no activity for me.

oh well. i guess i'll pick it back up after this is all over. it's not the end. i just hope i don't creep back up to starting weight, i might cry.

i was thinking slimfast shakes for when i get the procedure done..

Ouch. Stuff like this happens. Fortunately, wisdom tooth removal is unlikely to put you out of commission for more than a few weeks. Take care of yourself and don't stress too much about your weight. Even if you gain a little bit, it'll come off once you've healed up and are back in your routine.

Get some, sugar free popsicles for pain. The cold helps the pain and also if there is any bleeding the cold is good for that , too. I have done this, it works.
