Good morning!!

Thank you so much for all the congrats yesterday!! I am on cloud 9 right now! Now I've got a real reason to hurry my butt up and get to goal!!

Here's one of the things I really love about IP, I am SO much more aware of and in tune with my body then I was before. It's really amazing. This morning I woke up and when I laced my fingers together I could already tell I was retaining water for some reason (that's where the water seems to go first, strange huh?) and would be up on the scale this morning. Sure enough, up 1. I don't know if it's the weight loss that's caused me to notice things like this more, or if I'm just paying more attention but I like it!

Did anyone else try to make those meringues yesterday? How did you like them? I tried but MAN it made a TON! I had to toss out about 1/2 of them, they didn't have much flavor, and it was kind of like a mouthful of sawdust I might have done something wrong though, I haven't made those before. I might try it next time with just 1/2 the egg whites, I think it would give it a better, more concentrated flavor.

Oh, and does anyone have any experience with pain killers on IP? I'm going in this morning to have a couple spots removed and I'm thinking they'll give me something. I don't know if I'll have to take them or not, but I wonder how they'll make me feel, if I'll be ravenous or anything. Thanks in advance!!!

Congratulations NavyMommy!!! I am so happy for you!!!

I made the meringues last night. I took a pkg of Peach Mango Kool-Aid and mixed it in and man were they awesome!! I love Peach Mango, so they really hit the spot last night when I wanted something sweet and I didn't really want piece of gum. I just put the rest in a ziploc baggie and now I have a treat for a couple of days.

Very proud of you as well. I know it is not easy resisting things like that, but once you do, it is sooooooo worth it. The feeling that you have, knowing that you were able to say no thank you and in the past you may not have been able to do that. I think it is the best feeling!! Just think how wonderful they will taste once you reach goal and are able to enjoy it...in moderation of corse.

So I knew she would be kinda bummed out since he is away so I told my son to call her to see if she wanted to go have pizza (her favorite) so she said sure. It was buffet night at Pizza hut so she really enjoyed it. I have 2 huge salads and water that was it!! and I was completely satisfied for 2 reason's 1) I knew it helped her out and put a smile on her face not to be alone 2) she asked if I would be a adopted mom to her since she has no family here. How could I say no right? and 3) I stayed OP even though there was all that pizza and breadsticks and cinnamon sticks and.... and.... and..... LOL.

Then we went to Wally World and guess what I bought myself????....A beach crusier BIKE!!!!..YES, I bought myself a BIKE to go riding. I will post pics later. I can't wait til tomorrow after my WI to go riding .......Happy early Birthday to ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wuv, your post made me tear up!! I have been that wife, pregnant, alone, and missing your husband and you have no idea how it made her feel for someone to remember her like that. That's awesome about being her 'adopted mom', I'm sure she needs people that feel like family more than ever right now! Plus, WTG on resisting the Pizza! I bet that wasn't easy.

Pizza and I have a love hate relationship, most days I think I could live the rest of my life without it, but then some days it's ALL I want and I want it RIGHT NOW! I just can't decide how I feel about it. Cheese sticks though, those I want all the time!

Oh, and WTG on the bike!! I hope you have a blast on it! Hubby and I went on a retreat a few months ago and at one point rented bikes, I had forgotten how much fun they are!! Can't wait to see pictures!

Anyway, I started cheating and couldn't seam to stop so my coach and I decided I should go off till I could really recommit. So, I've been off IP for about a year and gained all the weight back plus about 10 extra pounds, uggh. I have an appointment to see my coach tomorrow night and begin IP again on Thursday. I'm pretty nervous but I can't keep doing this to myself. I love love love the inspiration and support you all offer each other and I look forward to walking this path with you. Has anyone here had the experience of quitting, gaining it all back and going back on with better success? If so I would love to hear your experience. Blessing to all of you and happy valentines. Welcome!!!! I just wanted to let you know that as you can probably see from the Second Time Around thread it can be harder to get back on the wagon the second time. I did it though and you can too! The key is to be just as committed the second time as you were the first time. It seems easier the second time (at first, before you're in the habits again) to allow just little cheats, or say I'll just eat this now and start for real tomorrow. DON'T DO IT!! Follow the rules to a "T" and it will be old hat again in no time.

I was on IP last September / October and went from 205 to 182 before I stopped. When I restarted in January I was back up to 196, but I've passed my lowest number from last time and then some. GL to you, and please post if you have any questions, need support, ect.

Thanks! I'm REALLY excited too! I can't tell you guys how much I appreciated every one of your votes!!

About the meringues, how many egg whites did you use, and did you use actual egg whites, or the ones from the carton? I think my problem was the flavor from the packet was SO diluted because there were SO many egg whites. I could have used any mix and wouldn't have been able to tell the difference because they tasted like nothing. I might have to try again at some point, I really wanted to love them!!

Good Luck!!! I had mine yesterday and I was down 4 lbs. I wish it would have been more, but I think I retained some fluid. But, hey it was a loss!

I used 4 real egg whites, 1/4 tsp of cream of tarter, pinch of salt, 1/2 cup of splenda and one pkg of koolaid. Then let the blender rip until it was nice and stiff. Baked them at 250@ for aout 15-20 minutes. The first batch came out mor dense than the first, I guess it was because it sat in the bag until the first batch was done and it deflated a little, but they still are tasty.

Thanks for this!! The other recipe called for 8 egg whites (and I used ones from a carton) and baking them for an hour and a half and I think that was just to much. I will have to try it your way! Thanks again!!

You may have to adjust the time a little and keep them in for a little longer, but I didn't leave them in for over 30 minutes. A couple of them were a little soft in the middle, I went ahead and ate them first.

Oh, I forgot the vanilla flavoring, I added a couple drops pf vanilla flavoring as well. The last time I made them I didn't use any and they were bland.
