Default Working out twice a day for 20 minutes?

I can't stand to workout for an hour. Even 40 minutes makes me not want to do it. When I think I have to work out for a full hour, I won't do it, or I quit half way through. However, I love 20 minute work outs. I tend to do them twice a day. Once early in the day and once later on. Is that okay or is that not going to do anything?

That's fine.

Sometimes you have to break it up how it fits into your day/life right now. You can always reassess at a later point to see if that pattern still works for your needs as you move along.

I find I do a much better job at my workouts if I split them up like you do. I don't have the dread factor that I can have with longer workouts, especially in my case with cardio.

What workouts do you do? It's fine to split it up but why not find something you enjoy so you can acrually look forward to doing it

There is nothing fitness wise that I would love to do an hour. I love Zumba, but after 30 minutes I get bored with it (I have the attention span of a baby lol!). I can do any workout for 20 minutes, even if I hate it. That's why I've been doing shorter workouts more often, otherwise it turns into me not working out for weeks out of dread. I was just worried since you always hear people talking about working out for 45-60 minutes at a time.

I actually did 60 minutes this morning for the first time. I blame it completely on the fact that I got totally absorbed in an episode of Millionaire Matchmaker. I've read all over the place that finding a distraction makes exercising so much easier. Although I TOTALLY knew this it's way easier said that done!

I think I'm going to purposely PVR 1 hour shows for myself so I can zone into the show and forget about the dread of a 60 minute work-out.

Having said that though, it felt pretty damn good to accomplish 60 minutes with no breaks! The accomplishment I felt afterward will probably give me a good kick in the butt tomorrow.

But, as for breaking up your workouts, I read somewhere that breaking up a cardiovascular workout into smaller segments is as beneficial as doing it in one longer stretch! So, as long as your moving I think you're doing great!
