Default Pintrest = Binge

Anyone else struggle with all the food porn on Pintrest? I really only intentionally look at food on there if I need a fun receipe for a party or something. Mainly I'm interested in the DIY, home decor and fashion. But everyone else posts tons of food stuff. I will have felt wonderfully motivated all day, then after 5 minutes on Pintrest I'm obsessively craving junk food. *Sigh* I think me and Pintrest are gonna have to go on a break.

It's like a book marking site. You "pin" your interests (hence pintrest). You create boards for different catagories and can browse other peoples pins. There's lots of wedding ideas, DIY, crafts, clothes, humorous photos, and, well, food.

I'm with you! Pinterest is so addicting! I honestly have to take breaks from it at random times because I'll just sit and browse for so long. And yes, the food and recipes always look so good! I have 2 separate pinboards just for healthy recipes and fitness motivation so when I start feeling temptation, I just start pinning those things, and it keeps me back on track.

I have a motivation board. When I feel like snacking or am craving junk, I go on there and look for weight loss motivation to distract myself from munching.

Hmm, I like the idea of a motivational board

There is so much food porn on there! But there's also some great ideas for healthy stuff too. It just sucks that I find a recipe for a green smoothie next to one for chocolate chip cookie dough dip...

I'm not a Pintrest fan, but I have the same problem when reading cookbooks (and even sometimes when reading my regular food blogs in the late afternoon). I have to do it in very small doses or I go crazy with cravings. Which is sort of annoying, because it means it takes me a week or more to finish reading a cookbook.

Pinterest is my life-saver AGAINST binges! ha!

When I feel hungry or like I might run to the vending machine or fast food at work....I get on Pinterest and go straight to the "fitness" board. It is full of motivational sayings, great inspiration photos, workouts, great articles (and once I start reading, I'll forget that I'm hungry), and some healthy recipes.

I do browse the home decor and my friend's boards...but I NEVER look at the "everything" board or the food boards because I don't want to be tempted. Plus there are just awful recipes out there for outrageous stuff. I saw one for fried avocado fries. What is wrong with just eating an avocado? Why must we make everything 10 times worse for us? Or like one I saw was a dessert that was basically a concoction of 4 storebought desserts combined into one. (like oreos, brownies, cookie dough and cake). Why would one EVER need to do that? If I want an oreo, I'll eat an oreo...I don't need it combined with 3 other things....

In my opinion, when I do see that crap, I stop and think about it and I'm disgusted...not driven to eat it.

I love Pinterest.... but definitely had to stop looking at all the delicious food. I try to search for healthy and motivational things now.
