Default Favorite Power Foods?

I just received the new pocket guide which is pretty similar to the blue book. I noticed they have a section on Power Foods which is also in the blue book (but I like to reread).

I'm trying to eat mostly power (filling) foods as the mainstay of my diet which is pretty easy to do. What are you favorite power foods (green pyramid)?

Fruit including pears, apples, melon, blueberries, raspberries etc..
I often buy frozen fruit and use them in shakes.

Veggies
including romaine lettuce, tomatoes, mushrooms, red peppers, cucumbers, spaghetti squash, yams (sweet potatoes)
(I was going to write avocado, which I have been slicing into my salads the odd time. There is a lot of good fat in avocado, but there are other nutrients in avocado also, but I just saw it is not a power food).

Brown rice, whole wheat spaghetti, GoLean cereal

Dairy: 1% cottage cheese, vanilla no fat yogurt, eggs, egg substitutes

Meat: chicken skinless boneless, fish (haddock, salmon), tuna (canned in water).

Snacks: popcorn

I have not thoroughly investigated the power foods as I will not eat anything that is fat free. But after a few more months of measuring and counting I may go to SF. Your list looks like what I do eat. Who can live without popcorn!

I can not give up my popcorn it is the perfect snack when I just 'gotta' have some crunch....even after I eat it, brush my teeth and get up the next morning I sometimes have a husk still in my mouth but the trade off is worth it....how did we get on this subject LOL

In the power food guide they say it should be 94% fat free microwave popped.

There is no salt in my popcorn, but I have to admit I sometimes melt 2 tsps of margarine because I love it so much. I do add the points for that though..lol.

Never eat popcorn very late at night. I had stopped eating late at night for a long time until I started working late..and then I was hungry after work at midnight. Popcorn is a no-no for indigestion.

You can also get to the power foods list on e-tools by going to Plan Manager, then the Find & Explore button on the left. Once you are on that screen, there is a link towards the upper right that says "Power Foods List." I like to keep that pdf bookmarked so I don't have to dig out my materials if I want to look over the list again.
