Question 2 pkts/day vs 3 pkts/day?

I've been doing a packet for breakfast, a packet w/ 2 cups veggies for either lunch or dinner, and having my protein choice w/ veggies.

I am not hungry in the evening, so I've never really used a "snack" packet.

I did make up some pudding packet "cakes" (my result was 9 cakes from 1 pkt), and I keep them on hand if I feel hungry during the day. The most I've eaten of them has been 5.

I eat 2 large salads (4 cups of lettuce) daily as well, w/ a mix of cucumber, sprouts, radish, bell pepper, red onion and use an apple cider vinegar/olive oil dressing I make.

Am I sabotaging myself by using only 2 packets + meat protein per day?

I believe you are. I wasn't hungry for the evening snack but my coach was insistent that you have to have three packets to be successful on the diet...

Yes, you MUST have the 3 packets a day. It is VERY important, each packets gives you the protein you NEED for the day. Lettuce is important but also just a filler so it doesn't matter how much you eat a day its unlimited. You are putting your body into starvation mode even though you are not hungry you are. Having 3 packets a day and a meal we barely get in 900 cals a day so you are lucky if you are getting probably 600-700 (guessing) a day and that is not a good thing. Eat your 3rd packet in the middle of the afternoon around 3-4 instead of waiting for it at night. But honestly YES, this third packet is VERY important!!

Thumbs up

Awwwww man!!!

Here I was thinking I was doing great and saving some money.

Okies, I will add a packet today. I've got lots of rasp jelly, I'll try making into FinnSteve's dressing.

Thanks y'all, really. So much more support on this board than my coach.

Hello,

It is not worth saving the money over health.

Indeed, you ought to have 3 packets a day, as Wuv explained it, you will go into starvation mode if you don't eat enough and your body would hold to its weight instead of losing.

My first time around, I had to switch my meat meal to lunch so that I could actually eat two packets later in the day because I was so full from dinner.

hello there - some days I struggle to eating dinner and then eating another packet because I try not to eat after 8 at night. Somedays I take my night time snack and add it to my dinner. My snack is usually southwest curls so I will blend them up and bread my chicken or fish with them and even zucchini. That way I am still eating my three packs.

Using the southwest curls as breading is a great idea! I think I will get those tomorrow and give that a whirl!

I would eat my snack packet at 3 or 4 pm sometimes and get me through that mid-afternoon snack attack. It worked great!!

It's okay to eat after 8pm. You shouldn't go more than 3 to 4 hours without some protein so you don't loose lean muscle. My coach told me to eat my snack right before bedtime so I have some protein over the long night time hours. But no restrictive foods at night.

Yes you need the protein so you are burning fat and not lean muscle. There really is a reason why they tell you 3 packs per day.
