i'm going back to the start (aka my story so far)
my weight loss journey started off four years ago. I was 222 lbs, had no idea how to lose weight and my mom was diagnosed with cancer. I dropped everything, moved back home and was convinced by my aunt to do Lindora. She paid, the gracious soul she is. I got on it and had nothing to lose-- no boyfriend, just finishing up my credential and living at home.
i went from 222 to 172 by losing 1 lb a day for about 6 weeks. I was ecstatic. I looked better, people were complimenting me left and right. i felt more attractive and after awhile my best friend became my boyfriend.
i didnt go back to lindora and tried many things to lose weight on my own. counting calories, weight watchers, the dukan diet... all without exercising. i got down to about 147 through starving myself (basically), and then got engaged. i stress ate and got up to 162. I dieted and by my wedding day i was 157.
that was a year ago. after the wedding i gained 5 lbs of "love chub" and got back to 162. Then, i lost my job and went on a cruise and ended the summer at 172.
the funny thing is that for a long time i was at 162 trying to get lower with no exercise.
at the beginning of this school year i found a new job (at least for this year) and decided to get healthy instead of stress eating this year.
i took up running in july and ran my first 10k this past saturday (10/30). After three weeks of running i felt healthier and more fit and decided to try to star tcounting calories again. this time though, i decided slow and steady wins the race and gave myself a year to lose the 53 lbs i've been wanting to lose.
its been a couple months and i am happy to say that i am back down to 162, technically my starting point when i got married. its furstrating to think of it as where i've been, but im glad to have lose the excess 10 pounds that i gained during the summer. Losing is hard and I'd rather lose slowly and keep it off than lose quickly and gain it back.
i am setting a goal of 5 lbs a month, since my calorie level is for a 1 lb a month loss not including exercise and i am running 4 days a week. it's been working out for me.
i just need to keep on taking it one day at a time. people are right-- it didnt take a day to gain it and it wont take a day to lose.
so lets take it one day at a time.. who's with me?
