So far I've been at this six and a half months (really?! Has it been that long?! It really doesn't feel like it!) if you count December 2010 where I started, lost eight pounds, stopped but never regained it, and started again in May. Otherwise it's five and a half, but then my starting weight would be 192.
If I lose at a pace of 7 or 8 pounds a month, it might take me another two months to get to goal. I suspect I'll start slowing down soon though, so I'm estimating that it'll take me another four months, give or take
It doesn't really matter to me though. As long as I get there; it doesn't matter how long it takes.
I've been trying to lose weight since January, albeit quite half arsed until April, but in 9 months I've lost 23 lbs. From July I've been losing about 1 lb a week, sometimes 2 lbs, but I've recently stalled and have remained at 170 for a third week running. It's still not the end of this week, so maybe I can reach that 169 and break the curse!
If I lose an average of 1 lb a week from NOW I'll be at my goal date by the end of next July. But who knows, I might start losing more weight each week as I go along!
I started to make small changes in my lifestyle/diet at the beginning of 2011, but didn't go full throttle until May 15, 2011. I lost pretty steadily from May-September, but now I'm at a total standstill. 5-6 more pounds!!!
I was surprised to think that I might get to my goal in a year! I thought it would take years, haha. I'm a slow loser (30lbs since May of this year) but with 50lbs to go, I think I should be able to do it by 1 year by now. In fact if I don't I'll be pretty mad at myself! :P

I've been at this for well... it will be 3 yrs in January. But to be fair, half of these 3 yrs have been spent, being aware of what I eat but not necessarily cutting back. For example, I stayed within 5 lbs of 235 lbs from September 2009 till August 2010, so that was a year wasted or maintaining, depending whether you're a glass half-full or half-empty type of person.
I'm hoping by the end of the year I can be at goal (165lbs) but more likely at my current rate, I'm thinking it will be more like by the end of January 2012. Which is fine by me and will mean I lost 110 lbs in exactly 3 years- which is maybe on the slow side, but the 3 years would have passed anyway whether I was losing weight or not, so I'll take it.
this is hard to answer. i started in january and my original goal was 75 pounds but i realize i may never be 117 so i moved it up to 125 and if i can get below that at all ill count it as a miracle lol. so event hought it has been 10 months only 4 of those are actual eat and work out like i'm suppose to months! honestly though even if it take me 3 years of falling off the band wagon repeatedly when i reach 125 in the end it will of been so worth it!
well i sarted about 6months ago. in 8days it will be 6 months. I have lost 39lbs since then and i started with 115 to lose. I have 76 left and if i keep losing at the same rate i would say have about a year left maybe a bit longer. but like others have said im ok with that cuz i could've just kept bein fat and unhealthy. : ) but im not im working on finding the best in me. : )
Depending what you consider my start date (I started running regularly before I changed my eating habits), I've been losing weight for about 15-16 months already. At my current rate I'm losing between 2-4lbs/month so if I decide to stop at a healthy BMI (155lbs) that would mean that I'll be done in 6.3 months (assuming a loss of 3lbs/month) but if I decide to go down all the way to me lower end of my goal weight it'll be a total of 11.3 months.
Granted, that's assuming that I consistently lose 3lbs/month but there's a good chance my weight loss could slow down even further the closer I get to goal. So who knows?
On the other hand, my weight loss speeds up quite a bit if I get sick, so hopefully that doesn't happy but it could mean I hit goal sooner.
Anyways, it looks like it will have at least taken me about 2 years to reach goal.
It took me from February 1st to April 14th to lose 35 lbs. (My original goal at that point was to get down to 150). From April 14th to May 16, I got down to 141. I've been toggling between 140-145, and just recently broke the 140 plateau. At the rate my loss is going, I'm not sure if I'm meant to be at my new goal of 130. We'll see.
I started in May. From May to June I lost 14 lbs. Went off plan (and on a lot of vacations for the rest of the summer) and gained back to 246.5. I started there on September 4th and have lost another 24 lbs. I don't know when I'll be at goal but I'm hoping by the end of July 2012 when my husband and I are going to Vegas.
i started over 2 years ago. my changes have been gradual and at times wierd.
i have recently noticed that I am doing about 10 lbs every 2 months.
at this pace, it will take me another 5 months to lose the last 25 lbs (please cooperate body).
I find that i lose 5 lbs fairly quickly, stall out for a while, then drop another 5 lbs in a matter of a week- i recently started blaming water retention.
I started on July 25th and I have lost 37 pounds so far. I figure I will be at my goal around New Years. What a perfect time to set a new goal! Once I reach my goal weight, my new goal is to become strong. I pan to start a serious weight training program. I will probably gain some weight. But it will be solid muscle, and I will look better than I did at the lower weight with soft muscles. That's my goal!
However, I am a yo-yo-er. I have done this three times now in the past twenty years; this is the FOURTH time. Please God let me learn how to maintain!
I started my weight-loss project over 11 months ago and I have lost around 40 lbs. I've been stuck about 5-7 lbs from my goal for the last two months or so. I'm not sure if I will ever get there, or if I would be able to stay there if I do. That's a little hard to swallow because for most of this journey I have been "ahead of schedule," right up through my 40-week check-in. You definitely won't lose at your fast starting/middle pace for the entire journey!
