Who's here this month?

I am, of course! I like 3FC and I like this PCOS area, even if it's been a little quiet.

How are you?

I'm okay. I got my period yesterday, so yay me, it was about a month, which means that they are pretty regular and that's a good sign.

I'm tired and stressed at work and I am trying to relax, but I really just don't have enough time in my day or enough weekends to do everything I want to do.

What are you working on?

This month my plan is to be very good at tracking my food and eating healthy, healthy, healthy and within my 1500 calorie limit.

I eat really well, but I've been averaging 1600 or so calories and I am not losing weight fast enough. Granted, how much of that is the PCOS is another story, but I've been pretty good with exercise.

My plan is to continue to exercise every day, my break being on Fridays. I found a new friend who is interested in riding so I have someone else to ride with too now.

How was last month?

Last month was okay. I lost a pound in four weeks, I think. I got back on track, I guess. I started riding my bicycle to my exercise classes. I took my supplements every day. I wish I could lose 2 lbs a week. Maybe I can if I lower my calories, but I can't imagine eating that low and exercising as much as I do.

Maybe I'm just being a wimp.

How's your PCOS management going?

Good! I think that part I have down pat, although I think this week my carb intake was too high. I need to plan my meals better, biking to and from classes is preventing me from going to the grocery store (because my bike doesn't have a basket) and I've had to improvise some meals which is never good.

But other than the food carb portion, I think I'm doing great. Two years ago, I started this journey after being really sick and hospitalized and I'm down 30ish pounds from back then. I'm so happy I started this and I'm happy that my health is great.

Who's here this month?
Hi ladies! I'm back on 3FC after about a year hiatus, and came across this group. I've been on my weight loss journey for about 2 years. I actually started before I was diagnosed with PCOS, but it has been a motivating factor ever since. To date I've lost about 40 lbs, primarily with the Fat Smash diet. I've realized over these 2 years and trying to eat healthy, though, that the only thing that really affects my weight loss is severely cutting down on carbs like bread, tortillas, and chips.

How are you?
Feeling good. I'm 2 1/2 weeks back on Fat Smash, and have lost 8 lbs so far. I know I have a long way to go but I have hope!

What are you working on?
Exercising. I think I finally got the diet thing down, but know I need to work out. It's hard to find the time, but this is the month I buckle down and do it at least 3 times a week, especially since I just got my cholesterol results back and it's still not down to where my doctor wants it.

How was last month?
Once I got the diet together it was great. Also I have a steadier job assignment for the time being, so that's a big stress relief.

How's your PCOS management going?
I just started having my period again after 8 years of nothing. I saw a hematologist in January and he had me on a strict herbal, natural supplement regiment, and so far I've had 4 regular (albiet short) periods in a row. I haven't seen a specialist regarding my PCOS in a year and a half, but I'm hoping that's a good sign.

I'm okay. Not great because the lbs aren't melting off.... But I am healthy, so I always try to remember that.

I usually use Fitday as my food tracking thing and this week I started tracking on Myfitnesspal.com. I don't know what made me think of it.... Maybe reading about it here or looking up some food item that Fitday didn't have.... Anyway, I signed up and I like the fact that it tells you how many calories you have left over to "spend" the rest of the day.

Fitday doesn't do this, so if I go over the number of calories, it might be too late because I ate them already!

At myfitnesspal.com it also adds in some of the exercise calories to the base weight loss amount which I also like because it makes me conscious about the days that I don't exercise, I shouldn't be eating more either.

So, I'm in a flux about leaving Fitday behind and starting with a new place... I had been at Fitday for sooooooooo loooooonggggggg.....

But I think the new site will help me be more accountable about what I'm eating. I've been complaining about being on a plateau but part of me thinks that it's really because I've just been eating maintenance all along..... so I guess we'll see if that's true....

Who's here this month?
I am, I seem to only check in at the beginning of the month. Will try to check in more often.

How are you?
I'm feeling good. Optimistic about this month & hoping to lose a few more pounds.

What are you working on?
Weight loss through exercise & diet. Pcos management.

How was last month?
Not so bad, gained some but lost towards the end of September. I have to confess that I stopped exercising since August but did exercise a few times in September but wasn't watching what I eat.

How's your PCOS management going?
I had a full physical checkup and PCOS blood works & an abdomen scan. the bad news is a few years ago I didn't have any cysts on my ovaries but the scan I did showed that I do now. the good news is that I don't have to take IR medication anymore (Actos/Met) because my insulin levels seem to be normal. My testosterone levels are borderline high, however the doctor recommended that if I am still getting my periods regularly (or at least every 2 months) that I don't need to be on bcps.

I'm gonna try and manage my condition with exercise and food/supplements and get a checkup by end of this year to see if I need to go back on bcps or not.

This month's plan:
1- track food on sparkpeople and limit carbs after 6 pm.
2- cardio exercise at least 3 times a week and try to fit in yoga.
3- drink more water.

Good luck all

Who's here this month?
I am! Was here last year when we were trying to get pregnant. Lost weight and managed to get pregnant naturally! I'm back ..

How are you?
I'm doing great. exclusively breast feeding my baby who is now 3 months old. I don't want to diet but want to do this the healthy way and still not be in a mess when i stop breastfeeding and realise I did it all wrong.

What are you working on?
Nothing actually. Just focussed on eating healthy to feed my baby. I still have a few more months of maternity leave so that is great. My body is craving alot of sugar so I need to do something about that. I've been eating chocolate everyday after every meal.

How was last month?
Not good. I had some post partum depression and a bad case of baby blues. Things are settling down now and I've begun to enjoy my baby.

How's your PCOS management going?
It isnt going. Being part of this forum will hopefully get me back on track and make me more accountable to be healthy for my baby. I put on 37 pounds during pregnancy and have lost about 18 pounds or so since then (including my baby's weight! ) the target is to get to pre-pregnancy weight over the next 6 months.
